Udaipur City Palace

The City Palace is one of the most visited palaces in Udaipur. It is situated over Lake Pichola. Lake Palace

This place was originally called as Jag Niwas. It served as a beautiful summer resort to the royal families of ancient times. The palace was constructed between 1743 and 1746 on an island close to Jag Mandir amidst Lake Pichola. Emperor Shah Jahan resided in the hotel when he protested against his own father Emperor Jahangir.

The Palace inspired Emperor Shah Jahan and led to the creation of the highly magnificent miracles of the world “The Taj Mahal”.
