Rather than focusing only on Rajasthan's larger cities, this itinerary also includes smaller historic destinations that give the journey more variety. The route moves logically across southern and eastern Rajasthan, with manageable road journeys between the major stops and time for both sightseeing and cultural experiences.

Detailed Itinerary
Arrive in Udaipur, where you will be met at the airport or railway station and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, take some time to relax before beginning your introduction to one of Rajasthan's most attractive cities.
Depending on your arrival time, start with a visit to the old city and enjoy views of the historic buildings surrounding Lake Pichola. Udaipur developed as the capital of the Mewar kingdom and is known for its whitewashed palaces, temples, narrow lanes and lakeside setting.
Visit the beautiful City Palace, a vast complex overlooking Lake Pichola. Explore its courtyards, balconies, royal apartments and museum collections while learning about the history of the rulers of Mewar.
In the evening, if time permits, stroll through the old market area or enjoy the atmosphere around the lakefront.
Overnight stay in Udaipur.
After breakfast, continue your full-day sightseeing tour of Udaipur. Begin with Saheliyon Ki Bari, a historic garden created for the royal women of the Mewar court, known for fountains, marble pavilions and peaceful landscaped areas.
Continue to the Jagdish Temple, one of the city's most important Hindu temples, located close to the City Palace. Its elevated position, carved stonework and active religious atmosphere make it an important part of Udaipur's historic centre.
Later, explore additional viewpoints and local neighbourhoods around the lakes. Depending on your interests, you may visit traditional craft areas, museums or local markets known for miniature paintings, textiles, handicrafts and decorative arts.
In the late afternoon or early evening, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, subject to operating conditions. The ride offers excellent views of the City Palace, lakeside ghats and historic buildings reflected in the water.
Overnight stay in Udaipur.
After breakfast, leave Udaipur and drive approximately 120 km to Chittorgarh. The journey usually takes around three hours and passes through the countryside of southern Rajasthan.
On arrival, visit the enormous Chittorgarh Fort, one of Rajasthan's most historically significant fortified complexes. Spread across a broad hilltop, the fort contains palaces, temples, gateways, reservoirs and victory monuments linked to the history of Mewar.
Explore important landmarks such as Vijay Stambh, also known as the Tower of Victory, Kirti Stambh, Rana Kumbha Palace and the remains associated with Rani Padmini. The fort's architecture and legends reflect centuries of conflict, resistance and Rajput identity.
Take time to enjoy panoramic views from the fort before transferring to your hotel in Chittorgarh.
Overnight stay in Chittorgarh.
After breakfast, depart Chittorgarh for Bundi, approximately 180 km away. The road journey generally takes around four hours and leads deeper into Rajasthan's quieter heritage region.
On arrival, check in at your hotel and begin exploring Bundi, a compact historic town surrounded by hills. Bundi is known for its blue-painted houses, traditional bazaars, old havelis, palaces and stepwells.
Visit the Bundi Palace complex, famous for its location beneath Taragarh Fort and for surviving examples of Bundi-style miniature paintings. Walk through the old town lanes to experience the slower pace and traditional character that distinguish Bundi from Rajasthan's larger cities.
Continue to one of Bundi's historic stepwells, architectural structures built to collect and provide access to water while also serving as community spaces.

After breakfast, leave Bundi and drive approximately 120 km towards Ranthambore. The journey usually takes around three hours, depending on road and traffic conditions.
On arrival, check in at your wildlife resort or hotel and enjoy some time to relax. Ranthambore is one of Rajasthan's best-known wildlife destinations, where dry forests, lakes, rocky ridges and historic ruins create a dramatic setting for wildlife viewing.
Depending on arrival time and confirmed safari availability, you may have the option of an afternoon safari or spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Safari timing and zones are controlled by the forest authorities and are subject to advance reservation and availability.
In the evening, relax at the resort and prepare for the following day's wildlife activities.
Overnight stay in Ranthambore.
Begin the day with a wildlife safari in Ranthambore National Park , subject to permit availability. Safaris operate in designated forest zones and offer opportunities to observe Rajasthan's dry deciduous ecosystem.
Ranthambore is famous for its Bengal tigers, although sightings can never be guaranteed. The park also supports leopards, sambar deer, spotted deer, nilgai, wild boar, crocodiles and a wide variety of birdlife.
After the safari, return to the hotel for breakfast and some time to rest. Depending on your confirmed programme, you may take another safari later in the day or explore nearby attractions and the landscapes surrounding the national park.
The combination of wildlife, ancient ruins and forest scenery makes Ranthambore an important contrast to the palace and fort experiences earlier in the journey.
Overnight stay in Ranthambore.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin the approximately 180 km drive from Ranthambore to Jaipur. The journey usually takes around four hours depending on road and traffic conditions.
On arrival in Jaipur, transfer directly to Jaipur Airport or railway station according to your departure schedule. If your onward connection is later in the day, additional sightseeing or shopping can be arranged depending on available time.
Your 7-day Rajasthan journey concludes after experiencing Udaipur's lake palaces, the mighty fort of Chittorgarh, Bundi's intimate heritage streets and the wildlife landscapes of Ranthambore.
The itinerary can also be extended with additional nights in Jaipur or continued towards Agra and Delhi as part of a longer North India journey.
