What is the origin of the Sunburn Festival?

This festival was conceptualized by a famous businessman called Shailendra Singh in 2007. It was the first-ever International Music Festival in India which was celebrated at Candolim Beach in Goa on the 28^th and 30^th of December that year. A number of celebrities and bands from the Music and Entertainment industries were the main attractions there, including Carl Cox, DJ Pearl, Super 8, Above & Beyond, and Pete Gooding, to name a few. The famous MTV VJ Nikhil Chinappa hosted the festival along with the popular DJ Rohit Barker.

How to get the tickets for the festival?

There are two options for you to book the tickets one is online and another one is offline.

You can get the tickets for the festival at bookmyshow.com. The cost of the tickets starts from INR 3250. Special VIP passes are also available.

A photo ID is required to book the ticket. People living outside India can also buy their tickets online with a valid passport ID and debit or credit card which needs to be shown at the ticketing booth at the venue.

Tickets can be available offline from various sources or from the venue itself. It is always advised to book the tickets for the festivals and Goa tour packages in advance to avoid the rush at the last moment.

How to reach the venue?

You can reach the venue of the festival, Vagator Beach easily from Goa or Dabolim Airport by taking a pre-paid taxi to reach the venue. The distance is almost 43 km.

Alternatively, you can get hold of Local transport from Dabolim to reach Panaji Bus Depot. From there you need to go to Mapusa Bus Depot. From Mapusa, you can easily reach Vagator beach by taxi at an affordable cost. The first option will, of course, cost you more money but less time.
