Join us on a 10-day trip exploring South India famous tourist spots! Starting in the lively city of Chennai, you'll get to see some amazing places like the old Fort St. George and the beautiful Kapaleeswarar Temple.

Next, we head to Mahabalipuram to check out some awesome ancient temples right by the sea. Then, it's off to Pondicherry where you'll feel like you've stepped into France with its cute French Quarter and pretty beaches.

In Tanjore, get ready to be wowed by the huge Brihadeeswara Temple, famous for its big tower and cool carvings. Trichy's next with its Rock Fort Temple that sits on a giant rock – the views from up there are amazing!

Madurai is where we see the super impressive Meenakshi Amman Temple. It's huge and filled with detailed sculptures. Then, we chill in Munnar, surrounded by tea plantations and beautiful hills. In Thekkady, we'll go on a safari in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to spot some wild animals.

We'll wrap up the trip with a relaxing houseboat cruise in Alleppey's backwaters, a peaceful way to end our adventure. This trip's all about seeing cool places, learning about South India's culture, and having fun!

Itinerary Details

Day 1 :Chennai (Arrival)

Welcome to India! On the day of arrival, you will meet our representative, who will meet you at the Chennai Airport/ Railway station and will take you to the hotel. After a little rest, you will proceed for the sightseeing in Chennai where you will be taken to Kapaleeshwar Temple, Marina Beach, Santhome Cathedral, and also the National Art Gallery. Chennai is a beautiful place, you can roam the streets to see the culture of this amazing place, after that, the night will be spent in Chennai.

Day 2 :Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry

Your tour will commence in the morning after having breakfast. You will head towards Pondicherry. En route, you will visit Kanchipuram, also called the "Golden City of a Thousand Temples". This sacred city originally had 1000 ancient temples, out of them only 70 temples are preserved. The most popular one is the 7th-century Kailasanatha Temple. Kanchipuram is famous for its silk weaving too.

From here, you will drive to Mahabalipuram to witness the incredible 7th-century rock-hewn monument “the Shore temple”. You will also visit “Five Rathas”, that exhibits a group of monolithic rock temples, in Dravidian-style architecture. Later you will experience a former French colonial settlement that still preserves its architectural legacy and carefree French atmosphere.

Chennai – Mahabalipuram: 200 kms

Day 3 :Pondicherry – Tanjore

After having breakfast, you will leave for Pondicherry sightseeing. Today, you will visit several beautiful places Pondicherry in the city including Manakula Vinayagar Devasthanam Temple, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville Township, a popular promenade beach, French war memorial, and Mahatma Gandhi Statue. 

You will then drive to Tanjore where you will visit the incredible Maratha Palace in a maze-like complex. You will walk through the courtyard Art Gallery that showcases an invaluable assortment of stunning stone carvings, and Chola bronzes. You will also visit the Saraswathi Mahal Library. You can spend your day at your own leisure in Thanjavur. Your overnight stay and breakfast are planned in Tanjore.

Day 4 :Tanjore – Trichy – Madurai

On this day, you will visit the famous Lord Brihadeeswarar Temple. It is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A thousand devotees come to visit this shrine on a daily basis. This impressive building is built by King Raja Raja Cholan a thousand years back. This monument is considered among the splendid architectural accomplishments of South India.

Next, you will continue to Trichy. You will visit Amma Mandapam, that is a religious bathing Ghatlocated on the shores of the Kaveri River. After having darshan, you will visit the highly illustrious, and sacred Ranganathaswamy Temple.

Drive to Madurai and check in at the hotel. Join in for the evening prayer at the famous Meenakshi Temple.

Day 5 :Madurai Sightseeing – Munnar

After morning breakfast, visit the Meenakshi Temple. It is a mighty temple complex build in the 16th century. It is devoted to Goddess Parvati or Meenakshi, and her husband Lord Shiva. This temple has regal stonewalls, a hall with a thousand pillars displaying Dravidian architecture, musical pillars and twelve huge towers called as ‘Gopurams’. Now visit the Thirumalai Nayak Palace that represents the Indo-Saracenic style. It is popular for arches and domes.

Next drive to Munnar. It is the favorite summer resort of the British monarchs in the past. It is characterized by its expansive tea plantations, pristine mountains, and valleys, exotic species of fauna, and flora, wild sanctuaries, aromatic spices. Overnight stay and breakfast are planned at the hotel in Munnar.

Day 6 :Munnar Sightseeing

After breakfast, you will take a tour of this beautiful hill station town. You will be stunned looking at the breath-taking views of the hills covered in tea gardens. Also, explore the rich tropical forests that abound in exotic fauna, and flora. You will find the popular Anamudi peak, that is known to be the highest peak located in the Western Ghats in entire South India.

The silver streams, pleasant climate, and serene atmosphere welcome you to witness the cool mountain breeze. The extensive tea estates with refreshing air, salubrious climate, soothing sunshine, a rare old-world charm make it a wonderful experience. You will also visit the Tea Museum. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 7 :Munnar – Thekkady

You will drive to Periyar National Park that is suspended high amidst the Cardamom Hills. This place is known for a wildlife sanctuary, and forests in South India. It is an abode to antelope, elephants, deer and several other species of birdlife. The place displays you a rich variety of fauna, flora, magnificent forests, and pristine lakes that will help you make your visit highly memorable.

After relaxing at the hotel. You will stroll through the spice plantations. You will learn about different methods to use these spices in food preparation, and the formulation of medicines. Join the Kalaripayattu Martial Art Show to see various martial art forms such as karate, judo, and kung-fu, and judo. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8 :Thekkady – Alleppey

Your journey will commence in the morning when you will tour the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary (Thekkady) on a boat ride. While you're touring, you can spot a herd of Elephants, Sambar Deer, and Wild Boar by the edge of the water. After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Alleppey. It is the calm, and tranquil backwater region. A houseboat lets you cruise through the intricate network of lakes, canals, rivers, and lagoons called the "Venice of the East."

Observe the rural lifestyle of Kerala as you glide through the tiny villages and witness the life of people. Relish an authentic dinner, and lunch of Kerala cuisine. Return back to Alleppey hotel for an overnight stay, and meal.

Day 9 :Alleppey – Cochin

In the morning, drive to another beautiful city in South India named Kochi or Cochin. Cochin is also called as the entryway to Kerala. The place offers several breathtakingly prosperous, and the scenic state of Kerala.

It has got a strategic significance and is highlighted by the Queen of the Arabian Sea. You will visit the St. Francis Church that is the first and the oldest European-style church in India.

Later, visit Mattanchery Dutch Palace that has a vast collection of paintings that display the scene from Mahabharata, and Ramayana. Visit the Jewish Synagogue that is considered to be the oldest in the commonwealth that is followed by a visit to the Fort Kochi that showcases the ancient Portuguese, and Dutch buildings.

Day 10 :Cochin Departure

You will enjoy breakfast in the morning at the hotel. After that, your tour guide will transfer you to the airport to catch a homebound flight with pleasant memories of the tour with us. Your Southern India tour ends here.
