Madurai is where we see the super impressive Meenakshi Amman Temple. It's huge and filled with detailed sculptures. Then, we chill in Munnar, surrounded by tea plantations and beautiful hills. In Thekkady, we'll go on a safari in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to spot some wild animals.
We'll wrap up the trip with a relaxing houseboat cruise in Alleppey's backwaters, a peaceful way to end our adventure. This trip's all about seeing cool places, learning about South India's culture, and having fun!

Detailed Itinerary
Welcome to South India. On arrival at Chennai Airport or railway station, our representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, take some time to relax before starting your Chennai sightseeing tour.
Later, visit some of the city’s important landmarks including Kapaleeshwar Temple, Marina Beach, Santhome Cathedral, and the National Art Gallery. This introduction to Chennai gives you a glimpse of Tamil culture, temple architecture, colonial history, and the lively coastal atmosphere. Overnight stay in Chennai.
After breakfast, leave Chennai and drive towards Pondicherry. En route, visit Kanchipuram, one of Tamil Nadu’s most sacred temple towns and often called the “Golden City of a Thousand Temples”. Explore the beautiful Kailasanatha Temple, known for its ancient stone carvings and classic Dravidian architecture.
Continue to Mahabalipuram, a coastal heritage town famous for its UNESCO-listed monuments. Visit the iconic Shore Temple and the Five Rathas, both showcasing the artistic brilliance of the Pallava dynasty. Later, drive to Pondicherry and check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Pondicherry.
After breakfast, explore the peaceful charm of Pondicherry. Visit Manakula Vinayagar Temple, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, Promenade Beach, the French War Memorial, and the Mahatma Gandhi Statue. The city is known for its French Quarter, quiet streets, spiritual centres, and relaxed seaside setting.
Later, drive to Tanjore, also known as Thanjavur, one of South India’s great cultural capitals. On arrival, visit the Maratha Palace and Art Gallery, where you can see traditional paintings, Chola bronze sculptures, and historic artefacts. Overnight stay in Tanjore.
Begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Brihadeeswarar Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by King Raja Raja Chola. This grand temple is one of the finest examples of Chola architecture and is admired for its massive vimana, detailed sculptures, and powerful spiritual atmosphere.
Later, drive to Trichy and visit Amma Mandapam on the banks of the Kaveri River, followed by the sacred Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam. Continue your journey to Madurai. In the evening, attend the beautiful Aarti ceremony at Meenakshi Amman Temple. Overnight stay in Madurai.
After breakfast, visit the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple, one of the most important temples in South India. Admire its colourful gopurams, sacred halls, and impressive thousand-pillar hall. Later, visit Thirumalai Nayak Palace, known for its grand arches, courtyards, and Indo-Saracenic design.
After sightseeing, drive towards Munnar, a scenic hill station in Kerala surrounded by rolling tea plantations, mist-covered mountains, and cool valleys. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Munnar.
After breakfast, explore the natural beauty of Munnar. Visit the rolling tea gardens, scenic viewpoints, and peaceful valleys that make this hill station one of Kerala’s most loved destinations. Munnar is also close to Anamudi, the highest peak in South India.
Later, visit the popular Tea Museum to learn about the history of tea cultivation in the region. Depending on time and local conditions, you may also visit nearby lakes, dams, or viewpoints. Spend the evening at leisure amid the cool mountain air. Overnight stay in Munnar.
After breakfast, drive to Thekkady, home to the famous Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The journey takes you through spice gardens, forested slopes, and beautiful countryside views. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax.
Later, enjoy a spice plantation visit and learn about Kerala’s cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, and other aromatic spices. In the evening, you may watch a traditional Kalaripayattu martial arts show, one of Kerala’s oldest performing art forms. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
Start the morning with an optional boat ride on Periyar Lake, where you may spot elephants, wild boar, sambar deer, and a variety of birds around the forested lake area. After breakfast, leave for Alleppey, the famous backwater destination of Kerala.
On arrival, board your houseboat and begin a relaxing cruise through narrow canals, paddy fields, coconut groves, and traditional villages. Enjoy the slow rhythm of Kerala backwater life as your houseboat moves through the scenic waterways. Overnight stay in Alleppey.
After breakfast, drive to Cochin, also known as Kochi, one of Kerala’s most historic port cities. On arrival, begin your sightseeing tour with St. Francis Church, one of the oldest European churches in India.
Continue to Mattancherry Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, and the heritage streets of Fort Kochi. You can also see the famous Chinese fishing nets near the waterfront. The evening is free to explore the local cafés, art streets, or spice markets. Overnight stay in Cochin.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Cochin Airport for your onward flight. Your South India tour ends with wonderful memories of ancient temples, coastal towns, hill stations, wildlife, backwaters, and Kerala’s cultural charm.
