New Vishwanath Temple (Birla Temple) Varanasi
The new Vishwanath Temple (the Birla Temple) is one of Varanasi's main attractions. This Lord Shiva temple is inside Banaras Hindu University. This temple has a magnificent view even from a distance and has the tallest temple tower. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya considered making a copy of the ancient Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in the 1930s. Therefore, the new temple's design was undertaken and began in 1931 by the Birla family, and in 1966, it was completed. Seventy-seven meters high mostly made of marble temples.
While Lord Shiva is the main deity in this temple, many other gods and goddesses worship here. There are nine temples within one temple, and the temple walls are decorated with depictions of extracts from religious Hindu scriptures. Regardless of religion, caste, and creed, the temple is open to all individuals.
