Manikarnika Ghat Varanasi

Manikarnika Ghat is one of the holiest cremations in India. It is located at the bank of the river Ganga in the city of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It is reserved for the Hindu religion. According to human belief, people get moksha to take rebirth when they are cremated here.

It is true to say that when people come old and weak, then they come and stay here until death.

In the old mythology, it is to be said that here Mata Sati sacrificed her life setting her body ablaze. Then Lord Shiva took her body on Himalaya. At that time, Lord Vishnu sent Divine Chakra that cut her body into 51 pieces called “Ekannya Shaktipeeth”.

This ghat is called Manikarnika Ghat as here Mata Sati’s ear’s ornament had been fallen. People and tour lovers come and spend their happiest moment here.
