Update: Sikkim lifts restrictions induced by the Covid-19 Cases

The Sikkim government announced on Friday that its restrictions would be lifted when the Covid-19 case takes a significant turn for the better.

On Thursday, the Sikkim government issued an order that read, “the decision to lift the restrictions was taken after the state noted a significant decline in the Covid-19 case.”

As stated in the order, “Markets, shops, and commercial establishments shall function normally. Educational institutions shall function as per guidelines. There shall be no restrictions on social, political, religious, or athletic gatherings.”.

The government of Sikkim asked its citizens to exercise caution during the ongoing pandemic. A total of 541 active cases were reported by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in Sikkim.
