It has recently been announced that Flynas, the Saudi Arabian low-cost airline formerly known as Nas Air, has begun the operation of new direct flights from Riyadh to Mumbai, making Mumbai Flynas’ its fifth destination in India.
There have also been announcements from the airline that it will begin operating new flights between Dammam and Mumbai in December 2022.
Flynas recently launched flights between Mumbai and Riyadh, becoming the latest addition to the growing list of Flynas destinations that also includes Delhi, Lucknow, Calicut, and Hyderabad.
There will be daily direct Flynas flights between Riyadh and Mumbai, departing from the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, beginning on October 20. Flynas flights will commence from Dammam’s King Fahad International Airport in December 2022.
“Most of flynas’ aircraft are the brand new Airbus A320neo which have the most efficient and environmentally friendly engines and the largest seat pitch of all low-cost carriers between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and India, this expansion is part of our long-term plan to become the No 1 airline between the Kingdom and India and to serve more direct routes,”
The flynas Chief Commercial Officer, Stefan Magiera, stated in a press conference in Mumbai on the occasion of the launch of the new direct route to the financial and commercial center of India, as well as the opening of a new office there.
It is anticipated that the airline will grow further, adding more destinations in India and more routes. We will also provide connectivity within the Kingdom, where our passengers will be able to continue their journey on our planes to Jeddah or Medina.”
The company successfully expanded its fleet from 25 aircraft in January 2021 to 38 aircraft in June 2022, a 52% increase over January 2021. Meanwhile, the number of passengers on its flights increased by nearly 120 percent to about 4 million in the first half of 2022, up from just over 1.8 million in the same period last year.
There are more than 70 domestic and international destinations served by Saudi Arabian Airlines, and it has transported more than 60 million passengers since the airline was founded in 2007.
