15 lakh diyas are lit at Ayodhya Deepotsav 2022, a Guinness World Record

It has been confirmed that Ayodhya has been inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records for lighting 15.76 lakh diyas in celebration of the festival of Chotti Diwali, which occurs on the banks of the revered Saryu River at Ram Ki Paidi. It is accurate, and you heard that right! It is true! It was an event of grand celebration on the banks of the revered Saryu River, which took place during Chotti Diwali. A total of 19000 volunteers made sure that the event was a success.

During the Ram Ki Paidi festival, it is estimated that 17 lakh earthen lamps were lit across 37 ghats as part of the festival’s festivities.

It is worth noting that to determine the world record, the Guinness Book of World Records only considered the diyas that had been lit for at least five minutes when determining the world record. Additionally, according to the firm that decides the world records, the diyas had to be lit within 40 minutes.

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the event as the chief guest. He attended the event as the chief guest. After the event succeeded, the PM awarded Yogi Adityanath the prestigious achievement certificate for the event’s success. More than 50000 people were gathered on the ghat when the grand record was made.

A Guinness Book of Records official was there to note down all the proceedings, and the lighting of the ghats began at exactly 5:15 PM. He said, “The ghats will be lit for five minutes, and the number of lamps will be counted.” It has been decided to put up drones to record the proceedings. We plan to examine these drones before declaring the final count.”

After the program, a 3D holographic projection was screened in which several episodes from the epic Ramayana were screened. It was one of the most potent visual effects of the event. The crowd never stopped chanting and cheering Jai Shree Ram.


In addition, the UP government paid tribute to Lata Mangeshkar at the end of the show by playing Ram bhajans, which the legendary singer sang at the end of the show.
