Tour Overview

Alongside Hinduism, India is home to many other religions, including Buddhism, which transcended the boundaries of India. Gautam Buddha was born a prince from Lumbini on the throne of King Siddhartha. He set out on his quest to India to find answers to various questions regarding life and suffering. In the end, after a long period of meditation, he achieved "nirvana" (Enlightenment). Later He preached and gave sermons until he left for his spiritual home in Kushinagar.

This Buddhist tour of India includes four significant locations in his life: the location where the Buddha was born, achieved Enlightenment, gave him the first Sermon, and later was able to attain Nirvana. Bodhgaya, Sarnath, Lumbini, and Kushinagar are significant locations that are directly connected to the spirituality and life of the Lord Buddha. In addition to these, there are other significant sites that he visited throughout his life.

These locations comprise Lumbini within Nepal and Bodhgaya, Sarnath, and Kushinagar in India. The other important sites of the Buddha's life comprise Vaishali, Rajgir, Sravasti (India), and the home of his youth located in Kapilvastu, Nepal.
