Located in the district of Kothar, Verinag Waterfall is a manmade waterfall, made by the Mughal Emperor, Jahangir. This waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Jammu and Kashmir. ‘Verinag’ means ‘the Bluish Snake’. The Verinag Kunda was there from ancient times and it was circular originally.
Later, when Emperor Jahangir started to build the waterfall, he gave it an octagonal shape, an epitome of Mughal architecture. The entire waterfall is surrounded by a brick wall. 6. Baba Dhansar Waterfall
