Tulip Garden Srinagar, Kashmir

Tulip Garden was established in 2007. It is the first major landscape project that undertook when the Mughals had established pleasure spots in Srinagar in Kashmir during the 16th century. Tulip Garden, Srinagar is Asia’s most extensive tulip garden that overlooks the Dal Lake in the capital of Jammu & Kashmir. It was once called the Model Floriculture Center and is surrounded by the Nishat Bagh, ChashmaShahi, and the Dal Lake on the three sides. It is spread over 30 acres of land; the terraced Tulip Garden is built on the mountain slope.

Things to Enjoy at Tulip Garden

  • The Tulip garden has a seven-terraced garden which is best known for the 48 varieties of tulip flowers.
  • There are other types of flowers like daffodils, roses, hyacinths, and many other ornamental flowers.
  • A water channel runs through the terraces, which adds more charm to the garden and makes it a perfect place to get memorable pictures for the visitors.

How to Reach Tulip Garden?

By air: Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport is 22 km. The Tulip Garden is 9km away from the Srinagar airport, where you can even use a mode of local transport or a private cart.

BY train: Srinagar railways station is closed just 18 km and you can

By Road: It is connected to all major cities. From Delhi, you can travel by your own vehicle and it takes around 1 hour with a distance of 26km. OR you can also hire a private taxi or bus.

Best Time to Visit Tulip Garden

The best time to visit Tulip Garden is probably March end or early April. If you wish to see the annual Tulip Festival, reach Srinagar during the first two weeks of April. The weather during that time is cool and pleasant in Srinagar. The best time to visit is between April to October if you want to see the city’s colorful blossoms.
