Dal Lake Srinagar, Kashmir

The Dal Lake, Srinagar, is an urban lake named the Jewel in the Crown of Kashmir. Dal Lake's shoreline is about 15.5 km, which is encompassed by a boulevard lined with Mughal era gardens, houseboats, parks, and hotels. The Dal Lake's Scenic view is witnessed from the Mughal gardens' shorelines like the Nishat Bagh or Shalimar Bagh, which was built in the reign of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Dal lake covers 18 sq km and is also a part of the natural wetland, which covers about 21.1 sq km. It includes its floating gardens.

Dal Lake is the best location in Kashmir for film shootings. The place involves vistas of rolling hills, snow-capped mountains, Shikaras cruising, and the houseboat standing still. The Shikaras that are canopied and are sailing on the lake are known as the Dal Lake's major attraction. Dal Lake also invites enthusiastic fishing people that have a plethora of fishes with the Carp. Besides, Dal Lake is also known for its floating vegetable market.

Best Time to Visit Dal Lake

The perfect time to visit Dal Lake is between May to November as the climate there is pleasant. In winter, the place gets extremely cold. The weather is nice from June to August. Winter has its attractions as the spectacular scenery is experienced.
