In a significant step to boost India’s position as a top-tier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE), the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, is set to host a pivotal Industry Roundtable event. This event, scheduled for November 30, 2023, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, aims to put India on the global MICE map.
Capitalizing on G20 Presidency Momentum
India’s recent stint as the President of the G20 has catalyzed its prominence in the global arena. With over 200 meetings hosted in 56 different cities, the nation has successfully demonstrated its capacity and infrastructure to handle large-scale international events. This has significantly elevated interest in India, both domestically and internationally, showcasing its rich cultural and natural heritage.
A Confluence of MICE Industry Leaders
The upcoming roundtable in New Delhi is not just a meeting of minds but a confluence of visionaries. CEOs and senior leaders from the MICE industry will gather to brainstorm and strategize on enhancing India’s appeal as a premier global MICE destination. City-Level MICE Promotion Bureaus: A New Approach
A key initiative from the Ministry is the proposal to establish city-level MICE Promotion Bureaus. These bureaus, planned in major MICE cities, are envisioned to operate as comprehensive facilitators for organizing MICE events. They aim to serve as one-stop solutions, collaborating with both public and private sectors to create a holistic MICE ecosystem in each city.
‘Meet in India’ – A Dedicated MICE Brand
To further propel this initiative, the Ministry of Tourism has launched ‘Meet in India’, a dedicated brand aimed at cementing India’s reputation as a MICE hotspot. This initiative is supported by various social media campaigns and partnerships with states and industry stakeholders.
