Air India, the flagship carrier now under Tata ownership, has announced the introduction of non-stop flights connecting Delhi, India, with Phuket, Thailand. Beginning December 15, 2023, the airline will initially operate four weekly flights, expanding to a daily service from January 8, 2024.

Flight Details and Aircraft Specifications

This new route will be serviced by Air India’s A320neo aircraft, featuring a dual-class configuration with 150 economy and 12 business class seats. This move aims to strengthen direct connectivity between India’s capital and the scenic island city of Phuket.

Flight Schedule and Frequency

The flight schedule kicks off with the inaugural flight AI 378 departing Delhi at 01:10 hrs and arriving in Phuket at 07:10 hrs, local time. The return flight, AI 379, will leave Phuket at 08:10 hrs and land in Delhi at 10:50 hrs. Initially, flights are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Air India’s Chief Commercial and Transformation Officer, Nipun Aggarwal, expressed excitement over this expansion. The airline plans to boost its frequency in this sector, reflecting its commitment to enhancing connectivity across domestic and international destinations.

Current Air India Operations in Southeast Asia

Currently, Air India already has a substantial footprint in Southeast Asia, offering daily flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Bangkok, and six weekly flights from Kolkata. In total, Air India runs 26 weekly flights to Bangkok.

Interline Agreement with Bangkok Airways and Booking Information

Further enhancing passenger convenience, Air India has established an interline partnership with Bangkok Airways. This collaboration allows smooth connections through Bangkok to various destinations in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.

Bookings for the Delhi-Phuket flights are now open and can be made through Air India’s website, mobile app, and various travel agents, including online platforms.
