There will be a six-hour closure at Mumbai airport on October 18 for post-monsoon runway repairs. Mumbai International Airport Ltd. (MIAL) will close the runway from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to maintenance and repair works.
In accordance with the MIAL, all airlines, pilots, and crew members have been notified about the closure of the airport.
As part of the airport’s post-monsoon preventive maintenance program, major work such as runway edge lights for runway 14/32, upgrades to the AGL (aeronautical ground lights), and other major tasks will be undertaken as part of its post-monsoon maintenance program.”

It is planned that the runway will be closed on Tuesday, one of the leanest days of the week, during the afternoon hours, when air traffic volumes are typically low, just before the weekend begins. Compared to other dates, the airfares for travel on October 18 have not yet increased in comparison to the airfares for other dates.
A series of maintenance activities are carried out to ensure operational continuity and passenger safety following the monsoon, MIAL said.
