Tour Overview

This 16 Days Best of India Tour for First-Time Travellers is designed for international guests who want to experience India’s most iconic highlights in one well-balanced journey. The route begins in Delhi, where travellers get a first impression of India through Mughal monuments, colonial-era avenues, bustling markets, food streets and historic neighbourhoods. From Delhi, the tour continues to Agra for the world-famous Taj Mahal and Agra Fort before entering Rajasthan through Fatehpur Sikri and Jaipur.

Jaipur brings royal Rajasthan into the journey with Amber Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, colourful bazaars and local craft traditions. A relaxed extra day in Jaipur gives travellers time to enjoy cultural experiences such as block printing, a cooking session, heritage walk, market visit or traditional dinner.

The route then continues to Udaipur, one of India’s most beautiful lake cities. With the City Palace, Lake Pichola, old city lanes, temples, art galleries and lakeside views, Udaipur adds a softer and more scenic side to the itinerary after the busy Golden Triangle cities.

From Rajasthan, the journey moves to Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest living cities and one of India’s most powerful spiritual destinations. A sunrise boat ride on the River Ganges, walks through the old lanes, visits to temple areas, Sarnath and the evening Ganga Aarti help first-time travellers understand India’s living traditions and spiritual depth.

The final part of the tour takes travellers to Kerala, giving the itinerary a complete North and South India contrast. In Cochin, guests explore Fort Kochi, colonial streets, Chinese Fishing Nets, churches, spice history and a traditional Kathakali performance.

The journey continues to Munnar, known for tea gardens, rolling hills and cool mountain scenery. The tour ends with an overnight houseboat experience in Alleppey, where travellers cruise through Kerala’s famous backwaters, palm-lined canals and peaceful village landscapes before departing from Cochin.

This itinerary is especially suitable for first-time travellers from Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and other long-haul markets who want a complete India experience without making the journey feel too rushed. Our chauffeur Mohan and his expert handling, allowed us to be calm in the middle of the chaotic traffic of the big cities Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. Of course, the guides of those cities, were correct but not very good, since they provide the information in "autopilot mode " To the classic golden triangle tour, we added a couple of extensions...”
