Ladakh – Leh, Nubra & Pangong
Ladakh is India’s high-altitude playground—Buddhist monasteries perched on crags, mirror-blue lakes, and lunar valleys where prayer flags whip in the wind. Base yourself in Leh to acclimatize, then ride over the world-famous Khardung La into Nubra Valley, and continue to the turquoise sweep of Pangong Lake. Our Ladakh packages balance altitude, comfort, and adventure—private cabs, reliable hotels/camps, and permits handled end-to-end.
Why Choose Ladakh?
For dramatic landscapes, Ladakh is unmatched: moonlike passes, sand dunes with Bactrian camels, glacier-fed rivers, and ancient gompas echoing with chants. Photographers love the golden hour at Thiksey and Diskit, riders chase bucket-list roads, and families enjoy easy day trips once properly acclimatized. We pace your trip to avoid AMS, pick scenic stays, and include authentic local touches—from butter tea tastings to monastery prayers where possible.
Best Time to Visit
- May–September: Peak season with clear roads and comfortable days. Ideal for Nubra, Pangong, and Tso Moriri.
- October: Colder nights, quieter monasteries, crisp skies for stargazing.
- Winter (Nov–Apr): Extreme cold, limited access—best for experienced travelers; some festivals in Leh region.
Top Highlights
- Leh: Shanti Stupa at sunset, Leh Palace, Shey & Thiksey monasteries, markets & cafés.
- Nubra: Khardung La, Hunder sand dunes & Bactrian camel ride, Diskit monastery.
- Pangong: Ever-shifting blue hues, lakeside walks, spectacular night skies.
- Tso Moriri: High-altitude wetland with rare birdlife and vast silence.
Permits & Acclimatization
Indian nationals need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Nubra, Pangong, and Tso Moriri; foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit (PAP). We arrange these with your IDs. Always allow 24–48 hours in Leh to acclimatize before crossing high passes. Hydrate, avoid alcohol, and plan light sightseeing on Day 1–2.
How to Reach & Get Around
- Air: Daily flights to Leh from Delhi & major metros (weather dependent).
- Road: Scenic routes open seasonally—Srinagar–Leh (usually May–Nov) and Manali–Leh (Jun–Oct).
- Local: Private cab with experienced Ladakhi driver is safest and most flexible.
Practical Tips
- Health: Pace the itinerary, carry any personal meds, and consult if you have respiratory/heart conditions.
- Connectivity: Only post-paid SIMs work reliably; BSNL/JK networks have the widest coverage.
- Cash: ATMs exist in Leh; carry small cash for remote villages.
