Fontainhas Goa

This place has the look of old times. Fontainhas was founded in the 18th by the rich Portuguese named Antonia Joao de Sequeira. This land was used for coconut plantation but later on when the Portuguese government moved their headquarters to Panim.

Due to the shifting of Portuguese in this area, it was converted into colonies, and quarters were built. In 1984, UNESCO recognized it as a Heritage site.

Tourists can encounter the beautiful construction of Portuguese with beautiful pastel artwork on the buildings. In the area nearby, there are various bakeries and cafes. These cafes are more than 100 years old and still serve the best of dishes you can imagine of.

Also, local people visit the chapel of St. Sebastian that is a 19th century built church, and showcase the simple and beautiful architecture of that period. Tourists who plan to stay can also enjoy affordable pocket-friendly accommodation here.
