Corjuem Fort Goa

This magnificent fort is at a distance of 22 km from Panjim, North Goa. As compared to other forts in Goa, it is small and very compact.

Corjuem fort was constructed back in 1551, and it is square. The major attraction of the fort is its several murder holes and gun ports. The construction furthermore includes three quarters and ramp-like structures in each corner that get connected to the ramparts.

It is believed that the chapel of St. Anthony was built inside this fort. The history of corjuem fort also stores the connection of lady soldier Ursula e Lancaster who aimed to build a self-identity in men dominating the world.

The fort is highly maintained and surrounded by lush green vegetation with a serene view of the villages and islands situated nearby.
