2. Great Himalayan National Park
The store is abundant for adventure lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. Around 77 km from the Solang Valley and a little farther aside from Kullu, there is the Great Himalayan National Park.

6. Bhrigu Lake
At an altitude of around 4,300 meters, this reservoir is at the famous mountain range Pir Pranjal. Located in the east of Rohtang Pass, a high-altitude alpine lake hemmed in by snow-carpeted peaks is another popular trekking destination.
They say that Maharishi Bhrigu used to meditate near this glacial lake, and hence they named it after him. The exquisite beauty of this lake varies in every season-it freezes during winters, while in summers you can see the crystal clear water of the lake with fragments of glacial snow still swimming in it. 7. Hot Water Spring
There is a temple devoted to a local saint named Vashistha. The sulfurous hot water spring in the shrine compound is the big attraction of this place. They feature separate bathing pools for both men and women where they can bathe before entering the temple.
Nearby there are two more temples of Lord Shiva and Lord Rama nearby that you can visit. They commercialize this place with local merchandise.
8. Rahala Waterfalls
The stunning Rahala Falls at Manali-Leh Highway is at 8,500 ft and about 22 km away from Solang Valley. This spectacular layered cascading waterfall, set amidst lush green woodlands of deodara and silver birch trees is this perfect picnic spot with crystal clear water streams.

9. Hadimba Devi Temple
15 km from Solang, Hidimba Devi Temple is also recognized as Dhungari Temple. One of the ancient cave temples is devoted to Hidimbi Devi, spouse of Bhima. They set up this intricate temple in the heart of the evergreen cedar tree jungle, called Dhungiri Van Vihar.
A rustic old four-story temple established in 1553, looks like a lodge in the woodlands. If you look closer, you can observe its exteriors decorated with sacrificial remains of animals. Animal sacrifice is yet a norm at the shrine. It sounds primitive, but practices like these are a part of the culture, which is gradually accepting reform.
10. Nehru Kund
Nehru Kund is just about 8 km away from the Solana Valley. It is titled after the first prime minister of India. This natural freshwater spring is popular among nature lovers and photographers.
You can spend hours amid lush green forests admiring the grace of the place, and the sound of the gushing water is like playing music to your ears. We believe Bhrigu lake to be the origin of fresh water in this pool, which is drinkable.
How to reach Solang Valley?
The nearest airport is about 63 km from the valley in Bhuntar town. You can get a cab to go to and fro Solang. It takes around two and a half hours to reach the valley.
Joginder Nagar Railway Station, which is at a distance of 175 km, is the closest to Solang Valley. Local taxis are available right outside the station that will take you to the valley.
Solang Valley connects to all the major cities via the road network. You can find state transport buses and private buses running back and forth from the valley, to Manali. If you are planning an overnight journey, you can also get semi-sleeper buses. Or you can take your car or hire a taxi and stop by various viewpoints during the road trip.
Best time to visit Solang Valley
Solang Valley looks beautiful and awe-inspiring in all the seasons, the best time to visit the valley to get the most out of your visit would be from April till late December. The temperature during these months is neither too high nor too low. It is just right to experience all the outdoor activities.
December and January is the best time to visit Solang if you want to experience the winter sports rush. If you wish to soak in the pleasant weather, it is best to go during June, when you can opt for parasailing and enjoy the magnificent views of the valley. It is advisable to avoid planning your trip during the monsoon seasons.
