In an impressive feat, Switzerland has achieved the distinction of operating the world’s longest passenger train! It is intended to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the country’s first railway system with the world’s longest electric passenger train. With 100 coaches, it was the world’s longest passenger train!
Here are some highlights of the world’s longest train:
1. There was a train that operated between Preda and Bergen on the Bernina/Albula train operated by the Swiss transport company Rhaetian Railway (RhB).
2. The train is 1.9 kilometers in length!
3. There are 100 contemporary EMUs and 25 four-car Capricorn EMUs.
4. The train crossed 22 tunnels and 48 bridges during its journey.
5. The Albula Line in Switzerland is a World Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO.
6. A total of 2990 tons of weight were carried by train.

For nearly eight months, the RhB prepared this spectacular train to run through the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This train weighed 2990 tons and maintained an average speed of 30 to 35 kilometers per hour.
At the festival organized in the valley on the day of the inauguration, thousands of spectators gathered. The historical moment was captured by the people present there. The journey began from Preda at 2:20 PM and reached Landwasser Viaduct exactly at 3:30 PM.
According to Renato Fasciati, Director of the Rhaetian Railway, setting the world record was a very happy moment for the company.
