The Badrinath Temple that is situated in Rudraprayag, Garhwal was opened to devotees around 7:10 am on a Sunday morning amid the singing of Vedic prayers and traditional rituals.

The opening ceremony to the Badrinath Temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu was carried out by chief priest Ishwari Prasad Namboodiri. The Vedic scholars sang the sacred hymns before a crowd of devotees. The entire shrine was accented with marigold orange flowers and lights.

The delay in their opening, along with various restrictions for visitors due to the pandemic severely impacted the number of pilgrims who visited the temples.

In spite of the cold, devotees were seen lining up in a long line on Saturday night. An estimated 15,000 people will be permitted daily entry into the temple according to reports.

The beginning of Badrinath on Sunday The Char Dham yatra is beginning completely as all four temples within the Char Dham circuit are accessible to devotees. Gangotri and Yamunotri were opened on 10 May, along with Kedarnath on 10 May .
