Ladakh is situated at one of the highest altitudes on earth. The place is characterized by its distinctive culture, and dramatic landscape. On the 7 nights and 8 days Ladakh with Hemi Festival tour, you will drive through Khardungla Pass, stay at a camp amidst the beautiful Pangong Lake, relish an adventurous ride on camel discover the sand dunes of Nubra Valley, witness a few amazing monasteries engraved with incredible Buddhist art, and explore a remote village Turtuk that is known for its distinctive culture.
On this tour, you will attend the famous Hemis festival that is believed to be the grandest religious festival of Buddhism. It features the colorful dance called Cham that is organized at the ancient Hemis monastery.
When you arrive at Leh Airport, our tour representative will welcome you and transfer you to a pre-booked hotel in Leh City.
After you check-in at the hotel, you have an entire day to unwind yourself, acclimatize to the surroundings, and spend the day at leisure.
After having breakfast, you will visit a Hemis monastery and experience the popular Hemis Festival. It honours the birth of the religious leader “Padmasambhava” who has led to the foundation of Tibetan Buddhism. Enjoy a holy dance named Cham that is performed by the monks. It denotes the triumph of good over evil.
After lunch, explore Thiksey Monastery complex, that has twelve stories and houses several Buddhist art pieces that include statues, as stupas, wall paintings, thangkas, swords and Maitreya Buddha in Ladakh.
After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel, and drive to Khardungla Pass. It is regarded as the highest motorable pass in the world. You will need to cross Khardungla to reach a high-altitude desert “Nubra Valley”.
Here you will explore the largest and ancient monastery in the valley as “Diskit Monastery”. Later, head to the hotel, or a luxury camp and spend your day in your own way.
After breakfast, you will drive to Turtuk Village that is considered to be the last village on the Indian border. It is close to the Indian-Pakistan military line of control.
Instead of the majority of Buddhists in the Ladakh region, you will find more people from Islam community here. After you discover the village, you will return to the hotel.
After your breakfast, you will experience the cold-desert sand dunes and the exciting ride on a double-humped camel. The place provides wonderful opportunities to capture wonderful pictures of natural wonder.
Later, you will head to Leh city. Have lunch on your way. Reach the city by evening to explore the local markets and shop some souvenirs too. Return to the hotel. Spend time in relaxation.
After breakfast, head to the most awaited destination on the tour as “Pangong Lake”. It is a high-altitude lake that is located at 4,000 Ft. The path to Pangong Tso is beautiful. En route, you will see a wildlife reserve and you may also spot some rare species of Himalayan wildlife. Go to Changla Pass. Stop by for lunch.
Next, you will head to the most scenic part of the tour “Pangong Tso”. Visit the lake in the evening to capture its mesmerizing views. Relax and enjoy dinner. Overnight stay is planned at the camp.
On this day you will wake up early and visit the lake to relish its sunrise views. Immerse yourself in its breath-taking views. Return to camp for your breakfast. Enjoy the peace and the stunning panorama of the lake.
Now drive to Leh city and have lunch on your way. Check-in at the Leh hotel and unwind yourself. The evening is free for you to visit the local market, or spend time in relaxation.
After your breakfast, our tour team will take you to Leh Airport from where you will board a flight to your home / onward journey.
