6 Days Bodhgaya to Kushinagar Buddhist Pilgrimage

6 Days Bodhgaya to Kushinagar Buddhist Pilgrimage

5 Nights / 6 Days Bodh Gaya · Rajgir · Nalanda · Vaishali · Kushinagar

Tour Overview

This 6 Days Bodhgaya to Kushinagar Buddhist Pilgrimage follows a meaningful east-to-north route through some of the most important Buddhist sites in India. The journey begins at Bodh Gaya, the place of enlightenment, and continues through Rajgir, Nalanda, Vaishali and Kushinagar, associated with the Buddha's Mahaparinirvana.

The itinerary is ideal for travellers who want a focused pilgrimage through the core Buddhist sites of Bihar before continuing into eastern Uttar Pradesh. It combines sacred places, archaeological heritage and Buddhist learning in a compact route without adding Varanasi, Sarnath, Shravasti or Nepal.

Two nights in Bodh Gaya allow enough time for the Mahabodhi Temple Complex, Bodhi Tree, Vajrasana and selected international monasteries. The journey then continues to Rajgir and Nalanda, linking the Buddha's teaching landscape with one of the most important centres of Buddhist scholarship in Asia.

Vaishali is included as a separate pilgrimage stop because of its strong association with the Buddha's later life and early Buddhist history. From there, the route continues to Kushinagar for the Mahaparinirvana Temple, Ramabhar Stupa and related sacred sites.

Travellers who want to add Varanasi and Sarnath can choose the 8 Days Buddhist Circuit Bihar & Uttar Pradesh. Those looking for the full India route with Shravasti and Lucknow can continue with the 10 Days Complete Buddhist Circuit India Tour.
