Well Organized Trip
We appreciated our travel design er (Ovijit) was able to customize our trip to add in additional stops and tailor our hotels to what we were looking for.
This 16 Days Spiritual & Classic India Tour is designed for first-time international travellers who want to experience India’s most famous landmarks, sacred cities, royal heritage and living traditions in one carefully paced journey. The route combines the classic Golden Triangle with Varanasi, Rishikesh and Amritsar, giving travellers a deeper understanding of India beyond monuments alone.
The journey begins in Delhi, India’s capital and one of the best places to start a first visit. Travellers explore Old Delhi’s lanes, Mughal monuments, colonial-era avenues, local markets and landmark sites such as Jama Masjid, Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate and Qutub Minar.
From Delhi, the tour continues to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, one of the world’s most recognised monuments. Agra Fort and the Mughal architecture of the city offer a powerful introduction to India’s imperial history before the route moves towards Rajasthan.
In Jaipur, the experience becomes colourful, royal and atmospheric. Amber Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and the city’s bazaars show Rajasthan’s palace culture, craft traditions and vibrant daily life. A relaxed extra day in Jaipur gives time for cultural experiences such as block printing, a cooking session, local markets or a heritage walk.
The spiritual heart of the tour begins in Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest living cities. A sunrise boat ride on the River Ganges, walks through the old city, visits to temple areas, Sarnath and the evening Ganga Aarti create one of the most memorable experiences of the journey.
After returning through Delhi for smoother travel logistics, the itinerary continues to Rishikesh, set beside the Ganges in the Himalayan foothills. Known as the yoga capital of India, Rishikesh offers yoga, meditation, ashram visits, riverside walks, gentle spiritual experiences and time to slow down after the busy cultural cities.
The final highlight is Amritsar, where travellers visit the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, the Partition Museum and the Wagah Border ceremony. The Golden Temple’s peaceful atmosphere and community kitchen offer a moving insight into Sikh hospitality and Indian cultural values.
This tour is especially suitable for travellers from Europe, Africa, Australia and New Zealand who are visiting India for the first time and want a route that is meaningful, well-connected and not rushed. Private transfers, guided sightseeing and carefully planned domestic travel help make the journey comfortable while still keeping the experience authentic.
Arrive at Delhi International Airport, where our representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel.
Keep the rest of the day relaxed after your international flight. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short orientation, nearby market visit, or a quiet dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast, explore the contrast of Old and New Delhi. Visit Jama Masjid, enjoy a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, and see the Red Fort from outside.
Later, continue to India Gate, drive past Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament House, and visit Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Begin the day with a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, the most iconic monument in India and a highlight for every first-time international traveller.
After breakfast, drive to Jaipur. En route, visit Fatehpur Sikri and, if time allows, Abhaneri Stepwell. Arrive in Jaipur and check in at the hotel.
After breakfast, visit Amber Fort, one of Rajasthan’s most impressive hill forts. Continue with a photo stop at Hawa Mahal.
Later, explore City Palace and Jantar Mantar. In the evening, enjoy Jaipur’s colourful bazaars or an optional cultural dinner.
Today is planned at a comfortable pace so travellers can experience Jaipur beyond monuments. Choose from a block-printing workshop, cooking class, heritage walk, local market visit, or a relaxed café and craft tour.
This extra day in Jaipur works very well for first-time visitors because it adds local interaction, shopping time, photography opportunities, and a more personal Rajasthan experience.
Transfer to Jaipur airport for your flight to Varanasi. Depending on flight schedules, the journey may be direct or via Delhi.
On arrival, check in at the hotel. In the evening, visit the ghats and attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony, one of India’s most memorable spiritual experiences.
Early in the morning, enjoy a boat ride on the River Ganges to see the ghats come alive with prayers, rituals, lamps, and daily life. This is one of the most powerful moments of the tour.
After breakfast, explore the old city lanes, temple areas, and local markets. Later, visit Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon, before returning to Varanasi for the evening.
After breakfast, transfer to Varanasi airport and fly back to Delhi. This route keeps the itinerary smoother for international travellers and avoids a long overland journey from Varanasi to Rishikesh.
On arrival in Delhi, transfer to the hotel. The evening is free for rest, shopping, or an optional food walk depending on your flight timing.
After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh, located in the Himalayan foothills on the banks of the Ganges.
On arrival, check in at the hotel or ashram-style accommodation. Spend the evening at leisure near the river or attend a peaceful Ganga Aarti.
Visit the main highlights of Rishikesh, including the Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula areas, Parmarth Niketan, riverside ghats, local ashrams, and the Beatles Ashram.
The day is kept relaxed so travellers can enjoy the spiritual atmosphere, mountain air, cafés, river views, and optional short walks.
Begin the morning with a yoga or meditation session led by a local instructor. This day focuses on wellness, reflection, and the slower rhythm of Rishikesh.
Later, enjoy free time by the Ganges, optional soft adventure activities, or a guided ashram and spiritual walk. Attend the evening Ganga Aarti before returning to your hotel.
After breakfast, travel towards Amritsar. The transfer can be planned by train or flight connection via Delhi, depending on the best available schedule.
On arrival, check in at the hotel. Keep the evening relaxed after the journey, or enjoy a short local food walk if time permits.
Start the day with a visit to the Golden Temple, the holiest Sikh shrine and one of India’s most moving spiritual sites. Also visit the Langar Hall to understand the tradition of community service.
Continue to Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum for an important insight into modern Indian history. In the evening, attend the Wagah Border ceremony.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport or railway station for your journey back to Delhi. On arrival, check in at the hotel.
The rest of the day is free for last-minute shopping, a relaxed meal, or optional sightseeing depending on your arrival time. This final Delhi night gives international travellers a safer departure buffer.
After breakfast, transfer to Delhi International Airport for your onward flight.
Your 16-day first-time India journey ends with memories of the Taj Mahal, royal Rajasthan, the Ganges in Varanasi and Rishikesh, and the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
