Padum is holding its sixth annual two-day festival to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Indian independence. The festival is called Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Taking place in Kargil, the mega event is being organized by the Ladakh Academy of Arts, Culture, and Languages. Additionally, you will be able to explore Zanskar.
In Zanskar, Padum is the capital & headquarters, and Sani, which is located 6 kilometers before, is its capital. The festival takes place at the monastery known as Sani. Musical dance performances are a lot of fun when people wear creative & colorful masks.
