Taj Mahal Entry Free for Tourists These 3 days: Check Details

There’s good news for those planning to visit the Taj Mahal in Agra in the near future. According to reports, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will allow free entry to the monument for three days, beginning February 27, 2022.

The Taj Mahal entry will be free on February 27, 28, and March 1. During these three days, the ASI officials have announced, it will mark the occasion of the 367th Urs of the fifth Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan at the Taj Mahal.
Every year, the Taj Mahal is exempt from the fee. In addition to these three days, World Tourism Day is also an opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal for free.

Dr. Rajkumar Patel, ASI Superintending Archaeologist, announced that visitors will be able to enter the area from 2 pm until sunset on February 27 and February 28, and from sunrise to sunset on March 1.

According to reports, security arrangements for the Taj Mahal have also been reinforced due to the three-day Urs of Shah Jahan and increased tourist traffic. According to officials in the know, all tourists who enter the Taj Mahal for free will be required to comply with the COVID-19 protocol.

Shakeel Rafiq, a tourist guide, added that it’s the only time in the year visitors are permitted to see Shah Jahan’s and Mumtaz’s original graves in the basement of the palace
