Tour Overview

Combine Mughal monuments, birdlife and Rajasthan heritage on this 4 Days Agra Bharatpur Jaipur Tour. Begin in Agra with the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, travel through the historic city of Fatehpur Sikri, then explore the wetlands of Bharatpur before finishing in Jaipur.

This compact itinerary is ideal for travellers who want more than the usual Agra–Jaipur route. Bharatpur adds a completely different experience with Keoladeo National Park, while Fatehpur Sikri connects the Mughal history of Agra with the Rajasthan section of the journey.

The route works especially well for travellers interested in architecture, history and nature. Agra provides two of India's most important Mughal monuments, Bharatpur offers excellent seasonal birding, and Jaipur introduces Rajput forts, palaces and traditional bazaars.

The itinerary can be customised according to arrival time, preferred hotel category, birding interests and onward travel plans. It can also be extended to Delhi, Pushkar, Ranthambore or other destinations in Rajasthan.

Tour Highlights:

  • Visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort in Agra.
  • Explore the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri.
  • Discover Keoladeo National Park in Bharatpur.
  • Look for resident and migratory bird species in the wetlands.
  • Travel from Bharatpur to Jaipur through eastern Rajasthan.
  • Explore Amber Fort, City Palace and Jantar Mantar in Jaipur.
  • See Hawa Mahal and experience Jaipur's traditional bazaars.

Detailed Itinerary

Arrive in Agra, where you will be met and assisted with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, begin exploring the Mughal monuments that made Agra one of India's most important historic cities.

Visit the Taj Mahal, the white-marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal. Walk through the formal gardens and view the monument from different angles while learning about its history, design and craftsmanship.

Continue to Agra Fort, a vast red-sandstone complex that served as a major Mughal imperial residence. Explore its courtyards, palaces and audience halls, with several viewpoints overlooking the Yamuna River.

If time permits, spend the evening exploring a local market known for handicrafts, marble inlay work, leather goods and regional products.

Overnight stay in Agra.

Taj Mahal and Agra sightseeing

After breakfast, leave Agra and drive towards Bharatpur. En route, stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the remarkable former Mughal capital established by Emperor Akbar.

Explore the palace complex, courtyards, audience halls and monumental gateways that reflect a blend of Mughal, Persian and Indian architectural influences. Important structures include Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, Panch Mahal and the palaces associated with Akbar's court.

Continue to Bharatpur and check in at your hotel. Later, visit Keoladeo National Park, one of India's best-known wetland bird reserves.

Explore the sanctuary by cycle rickshaw, bicycle or on foot according to local arrangements. Birdlife varies by season, but the park supports herons, egrets, storks, ducks, raptors, kingfishers and many other wetland and woodland species.

Overnight stay in Bharatpur.

On arrival, check in at your hotel and take some time to relax before exploring the Pink City's old quarters.

Stop near Hawa Mahal and continue through the traditional market streets. Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar are known for jewellery, textiles, block-printed fabrics and Rajasthani handicrafts.

The evening is free to enjoy Jaipur's markets or relax at the hotel.
