14 Days Complete Buddhist India & Nepal Pilgrimage

13 Nights / 14 Days Delhi · Bhopal · Sanchi · Varanasi · Sarnath · Bodh Gaya · Rajgir · Nalanda · Vaishali · Kushinagar · Lumbini · Shravasti · Lucknow

Tour Overview

This 14 Days Complete Buddhist India & Nepal Pilgrimage is the most comprehensive route in our Buddhist collection, combining the great stupa heritage of Sanchi with the principal sacred places associated with the Buddha's life, teachings and legacy across India and Nepal.

The journey connects Sarnath, Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, Nalanda, Vaishali, Kushinagar, Lumbini and Shravasti, creating a complete private Buddhist pilgrimage journey.

The route begins with Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh, adding an important architectural and historical layer before the pilgrimage reaches the sites directly associated with the Buddha. From Bhopal, the journey continues east to Varanasi and Sarnath, where the Buddha delivered his first teaching.

Two nights in Bodh Gaya allow the Mahabodhi Temple Complex, Bodhi Tree and monastery traditions to be experienced properly. Rajgir, Nalanda and Vaishali then connect sacred teaching landscapes with Buddhist scholarship and the early development of the Sangha.

The final section follows the route through Kushinagar, associated with Mahaparinirvana, into Nepal for two nights in Lumbini, and then returns to India for Shravasti and Jetavana before ending in Lucknow. Travellers wanting a shorter cross-border option can choose the 12 Days India & Nepal Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour.
