This 12-day India cultural and spiritual tour combines the famous Golden Triangle with the sacred cities of Varanasi and Ayodhya, followed by the vibrant coastal city of Mumbai. The itinerary is ideal for travellers who want to experience India’s royal history, Mughal heritage, living spiritual traditions, Hindu pilgrimage sites and modern city life in one well-planned journey.

The tour begins in Delhi, where Old Delhi’s historic lanes and New Delhi’s colonial-era landmarks provide a rich introduction to India. The journey then continues to Jaipur, the Pink City of Rajasthan, known for Amber Fort, royal palaces, observatories, colourful markets and traditional architecture.

From Jaipur, travel to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal, one of the world’s most admired monuments and a major highlight of every India itinerary. The journey then continues by train to Varanasi, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and the spiritual heart of Hindu India.

In Varanasi, experience sunrise on the River Ganges, ancient ghats, temple lanes, Sarnath and the powerful evening Ganga Aarti ceremony. The tour then moves to Ayodhya, an important pilgrimage city associated with Lord Rama. Visit Ram Janmabhoomi, Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan and the Sarayu River ghats.

The final part of the journey takes you to Mumbai, India’s financial and entertainment capital. Explore colonial heritage, Gateway of India, Marine Drive, local markets and the city’s energetic lifestyle. A free day in Mumbai also gives time for shopping, cafés, local food and personal exploration before departure.

Detailed Itinerary

Arrive at Delhi International Airport, where our representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, take time to relax and recover from your international or domestic journey.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a short orientation drive or a nearby market visit. Delhi is a city of many layers, with Mughal-era monuments, colonial avenues, modern business districts and busy local markets. The first day is kept relaxed for a comfortable start to the tour.

Arrival in Delhi for Golden Triangle Varanasi Ayodhya Mumbai tour

After breakfast, begin a full-day sightseeing tour of Delhi, covering the contrasting areas of Old Delhi and New Delhi. Start with a visit to Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, followed by a rickshaw ride through the lively lanes of Chandni Chowk.

See the Red Fort from outside and experience the atmosphere of Old Delhi’s spice markets, food streets and traditional shops. Later, continue to New Delhi to visit India Gate, drive past Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament House, and visit Humayun’s Tomb.

The day also includes a visit to Qutub Minar, an important UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Delhi’s best-known monuments. Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Old Delhi and New Delhi sightseeing tour

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and popularly known as the Pink City. The drive takes you through the plains of North India before reaching Rajasthan’s royal heritage region.

On arrival, check in at the hotel and take some time to relax. Jaipur is known for its forts, palaces, colourful bazaars, handicrafts, jewellery and traditional Rajasthani culture.

In the evening, you may explore local markets, visit a jewellery or textile shop, or enjoy an optional traditional dinner experience. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Delhi to Jaipur road journey for Rajasthan tour

After breakfast, begin your Jaipur sightseeing tour with a visit to Amber Fort, one of Rajasthan’s most impressive hill forts. The fort is known for its grand courtyards, gateways, mirror work, royal halls and views over Maota Lake.

Later, stop for photographs at Jal Mahal and Hawa Mahal, Jaipur’s iconic Palace of Winds. Continue to City Palace, a royal complex that still reflects the legacy of Jaipur’s rulers, followed by Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO-listed astronomical observatory.

In the evening, enjoy free time at Bapu Bazaar, Johari Bazaar or nearby craft markets. Jaipur is especially popular for block-print textiles, gemstone jewellery, leather footwear, blue pottery and handmade souvenirs. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Agra, home to the world-famous Taj Mahal. En route, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the former Mughal capital built by Emperor Akbar. Explore its red sandstone courtyards, Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid and royal palace complex.

Continue to Agra and check in at the hotel. Later, visit the Taj Mahal, the beautiful white-marble mausoleum built by Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal. The monument is admired for its symmetry, marble inlay work, Mughal gardens and changing light throughout the day.

Depending on time, you may also visit Mehtab Bagh for a quieter view across the Yamuna River or enjoy a local handicraft demonstration. Overnight stay in Agra.

Jaipur to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri and Taj Mahal visit

After breakfast, visit Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture. Walk through its palaces, audience halls and courtyards while learning about the history of the Mughal emperors.

Later, return to the hotel or proceed for a local lunch before transfer to Agra railway station for your train journey to Varanasi. Train timings and class of travel will be selected according to the final schedule and availability.

On arrival in Varanasi, meet our representative and transfer to the hotel. Varanasi is one of the holiest cities in Hinduism, located on the banks of the sacred River Ganges. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

Agra to Varanasi train journey for India spiritual tour

Begin the day early with a sunrise boat ride on the River Ganges. This is one of the most memorable experiences in Varanasi, as you watch the ghats come alive with morning prayers, bathing rituals, temple bells and the everyday rhythm of the sacred city.

After breakfast, explore the old lanes of Varanasi, local markets and important temple areas. Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple area, subject to local entry regulations and security arrangements. The narrow lanes are full of shrines, flower sellers, silk shops and traditional food stalls.

Later, visit Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Explore Dhamek Stupa, the archaeological museum area and Buddhist temple complex.

In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. The ceremony of lamps, chants, bells and prayers is one of India’s most moving spiritual experiences. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Ayodhya, one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage destinations in India. Ayodhya is traditionally regarded as the birthplace of Lord Rama and is deeply connected with the Ramayana.

The road journey takes you through the landscapes and towns of Uttar Pradesh. On arrival in Ayodhya, check in at the hotel and relax for some time.

In the evening, visit the Sarayu River ghats for a peaceful walk and witness the devotional atmosphere of the city. Depending on arrival time, you may also visit nearby local temples. Overnight stay in Ayodhya.

Varanasi to Ayodhya spiritual journey

After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Ayodhya. Visit Ram Janmabhoomi and Ram Mandir, one of the most significant pilgrimage sites for Hindu travellers. Please note that temple entry procedures, timings and security arrangements are subject to local regulations.

Continue to Hanuman Garhi, a prominent temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, followed by Kanak Bhawan, known for its association with Lord Rama and Sita. You may also visit Dashrath Mahal and the peaceful ghats along the Sarayu River.

Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to Mumbai. On arrival at Mumbai Airport, meet our representative and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the evening is free for relaxation after the flight. Overnight stay in Mumbai.

Ayodhya sightseeing and flight to Mumbai

After breakfast, begin your Mumbai sightseeing tour. Start with the Gateway of India, Mumbai’s most iconic waterfront monument, located near the historic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The area offers excellent views of the Arabian Sea and nearby heritage buildings.

Continue to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, a UNESCO-listed railway station known for its grand Victorian Gothic architecture. Drive past the University of Mumbai, High Court area, Rajabai Clock Tower and other heritage landmarks of South Mumbai.

Later, visit Marine Drive, also known as the Queen’s Necklace, and enjoy views of the Arabian Sea. You may also visit Hanging Gardens, Mani Bhavan, Dhobi Ghat or the colourful lanes of Colaba, depending on time and interest.

In the evening, return to the hotel or enjoy free time near Colaba Causeway or Marine Drive. Overnight stay in Mumbai.

After breakfast, enjoy a free day in Mumbai for shopping, personal activities and leisure. This flexible day allows travellers to explore the city according to their interests and shopping preferences.

Popular shopping areas include Colaba Causeway for souvenirs and fashion accessories, Linking Road for street shopping, Crawford Market for local items, Chor Bazaar for antiques, and luxury malls in Bandra, Lower Parel or South Mumbai.

Food lovers may explore local cafés, traditional restaurants, street-food areas or Mumbai’s coastal dining options. You can also choose an optional experience such as a Bollywood studio tour, Dharavi walk, Elephanta Caves excursion or a guided heritage walk, subject to timing and availability.

Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight stay in Mumbai.

Mumbai shopping and leisure day Colaba Causeway local markets

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Mumbai International Airport for your onward flight. The transfer will be planned according to your flight schedule.
