The famous street is located just 2 km away from Alleppey town. Raja Keshavdas established the road to develop trade and commerce. The commercial canal was built to import and export goods via Alleppey port which was built in 1762. The raja invited 42 Gujarati families to Alleppey to develop the business like spices, coir, coconut products, clothing, etc.

At Jain Temple, you will be in awe at the architectural brilliance embellishing the white outside and inside. For centuries, it has been serving as an abode for those Jain people in Alleppey. The two shrines of the temples are built in the last century with solely white marble from Rajasthan. Another fantastic fact is that the temple structure was constructed without any iron hold.
