Betty Karunakaran constructed it in her Husband's memory, Revi Karunakaran, one of the dominant coir industrialist & businessmen of Kerala. It is one of the largest museums, which holds vast Swarovski crystals in jade, ivory, porcelain, sculptures, Belgium glassworks, Murano glassworks, & Tanjore paintings & so on. The Karunakaran family is believed to have a sharp eye for fine arts & has been assembling articrafts & displays for at least three generations. Initially, Revi Karunakaran's depository was known for personal use, but after the death of Revi Karunakaran in the year 2003, his wife decided to open a museum.

The most fantastic part is collecting the Tanjore paintings, which allure travellers & art fanatics from all around India. This museum's showstopper is the 250-feet tall mural which will leave you jaw-dropped, Overwhelming & awe-inspiring. The mural, which took 4160 hours to be built, is created by using only vegetable dyes. It's a tribute to eyes to see such beautiful arts crafts collection & designs.
