Vietnam reopen its borders on 15 March for foreign travelers

The Vietnam Tourism Board intends to reopen its doors to foreign visitors as early as March 15. From mid-March, nearly all travel restrictions will be lifted, as proposed by the country’s tourism ministry. Previously, this was not decided upon, and it is now reopening three months prior to expectations.

It was decided that Vietnam would reopen to foreign visitors who tested negative for COVID 19 before arriving in the country. Furthermore, visitors who wish to travel to Vietnam should have received a vaccine against the virus within the last six months and within 14 days of arriving in the country.

Moreover, visitors must be quarantined on the first day of their trip and have travel medical insurance up to $10,000. In contrast, visitors who have not been vaccinated will be allowed into the country but must remain quarantined in a hotel for seven days. Additionally, the first day and the seventh day must be spent taking RT PCR tests.

Like Thailand and the Philippines, Vietnam is cautiously welcoming visitors and is slowly regaining its tourist reputation. Infections with COVID 19 are still increasing in the country. During the past three days, the country has reported 32000 new cases of COVID 19 cases alone.
