You will soon be able to travel between Mumbai-Pune in Vistadome coaches. According to reports, Central Railway will operate Train Number 01007/01008 Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express special train by Vistadome coach started from June 26.
According to reports, the train was not on the tracks since mid-May when the Maharashtra government had issued strict regulations for intrastate travel. This will allow passengers traveling between Mumbai-Pune to take panoramic views of the Western Ghats from the Vistadome coach.
It was introduced by Indian Railways. CR spokesperson stated that the Vistadome coaches are available on one train, the CSTM–Madgaon Janshatabdi Special.
Deccan Express’s new addition of these coaches will allow passengers to enjoy unobstructed views of the valley, river, waterfalls, and many other sights along the Mumbai-Pune route.
Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal recently shared photos of the Vistadome coach and tweeted: “Enjoy scenic beauty in the Western Ghats with first-ever Vistadome coach along this route.

The train will travel through the beautiful Western Ghats. It will give glimpses of Matheran Hill, Songir Hill, and Ulhas Valley. Vistadome coaches will be air-conditioned and feature a glass roof, GPS-based info system, LED lights, and an open-air area. The coach can hold 44 passengers and have a rotating roof rotated 180 degrees to face the train’s direction. It also features automatic sliding doors, a unique observation lounge for panoramic views, and a multi-tier luggage rack. The coaches have large windows on both sides and glass panels on their roofs to provide better views.
Fare of Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express
These will have a fare similar to Shatabdi executive chair class fare. No concessional fare will be offered to any other category of the passenger.
