Travel Fiji – Vaccinated Traveller not required pre-departure COVID tests

Travel Fiji Fully vaccinated will no longer need pre-departure COVID tests

The pre-arrival COVID-19 negative test will not be required for all fully vaccinated travelers visiting Fiji. This change will take effect from May 1. The change comes as a result of the Fiji Government releasing a statement stating that all fully vaccinated travellers visiting Fiji will no longer need to submit a pre-arrival negative COVID-19 test prior to entry. It will be effective from May 1.

Travellers should note, however, that they will need to book an in-country pre covid RAT test before entering Fiji. According to reports, the test must take place within 48-72 hours after the arrival. The entry requirements for the country have been increased to include a requirement that all persons over 16 years old show proof of their COVID-19 vaccinations.

The government stated that all tourists over 16 years old must show proof of vaccination before they visit Fiji. This will help to reduce the risk of COVID transmission and enable the island nation to tap into the tourist market.

Important Notes:

  • If you are 16 or older, get fully vaccinated with a Fiji-recognized dose

  • Before you travel to Fiji, book an in-country COVID-19 Rat. The test must be completed within 48-72 hours of your arrival in Fiji. These tests can be booked at entrytestfiji.com

  • Trusted travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage

Brent Hill, Tourism Fiji CEO said, “this is yet another significant step for Fiji, making it easier than ever to travel to our idyllic shores from around the globe. The Fijian Government has continued to respond to data and science, and moved quickly to make these changes, as more countries around the world also relaxed their protocols. There has never been a better, simpler time to come to Fiji than now.”

These moves are consistent with Fiji’s ongoing effort to strengthen its in country testing programme and wider community surveillance efforts, which are intended for safety of Fijians as well as visitors.

The Covid-19 Risk Mitigation Team will continue to review Fiji’s entry requirements, safe measures, and focus on strengthening community surveillance. This is in addition to the high vaccination rates.

According to reports, there have not been any admissions of COVID-19-positive people to hospitals in the country. However, 21 new cases were reported this week.
