IndiGo has unveiled new direct flight services between Chennai and Durgapur starting May 16, 2024, along with reinstating its direct route to Bangkok from Chennai beginning May 15, 2024. These initiatives are set to enhance both domestic and international flight options from Chennai, benefiting business and leisure travelers alike, and fostering economic expansion in these regions.
The airline has expanded its network significantly, now offering 28 weekly flights from Durgapur to major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. This expansion provides Durgapur travelers enhanced connectivity to various domestic and international destinations via Chennai.
Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, stated, “We are excited to launch these direct flights between Chennai and Durgapur and to resume our service to Bangkok. These routes significantly improve accessibility and connectivity, strengthening regional and international links while opening up new avenues for trade and tourism. With the addition of these flights, IndiGo now offers 69 direct flights weekly to Thailand from seven Indian cities. We remain committed to providing an affordable, punctual, and pleasant travel experience across our extensive network.”

- Chennai to Durgapur (Flight No. 6E 981): Operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, starting from May 16, 2024. Departure at 5:45 AM, arrival at 8:25 AM.
- Durgapur to Chennai (Flight No. 6E 982): Operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, starting from May 16, 2024. Departure at 8:55 AM, arrival at 11:25 AM.
- Chennai to Bangkok (Flight No. 6E 1913): Operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, starting from May 15, 2024. Departure at 3:50 AM, arrival at 9:05 AM.
- Bangkok to Chennai (Flight No. 6E 1914): Operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, starting from May 15, 2024. Departure at 10:05 AM, arrival at 11:55 AM.
