Kamadgiri’s name came from Kamadnathji, another name of Lord Rama, which means satisfying all desires. On the 5-kilometer path of the Parikrama, there are many temples. One of the most prominent is the Bharat Milaap temple. The place where Bharat met Lord Ram and persuaded him to return to his kingdom.

2. Gupt Godavari
This is a pair of caves in which there is a narrow entrance that you can barely move through. In streams from the other cave, water trickles down, which can reach up to the length of our knees. The locals say that Lord Rama and Lakshman have met once secretly here.
The structures present in the cave confirm it apparently by the throne. You will witness the mesmerizing beauty of the cave. It equally matches the likes of Elephanta caves, Ajanta, and Ellora caves. It is largely unknown to the world as the list goes on. This is a location that is slowly emerging as one of India’s most popular destinations.

3. Rajapur
Located in the Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh, Rajapur is a small town. The fact that it is the birthplace of Goswami Tulsidas. The prolific author of Sri Ram Charit Manas and Hanuman Chalisa is what makes this quaint settlement popular.
There is a small temple, the dedication to Tulsidas here and it is the main attraction of the town. Located on the banks of the Yamuna River, this temple is simple and charming in its design. And is the ideal place to revel in the marvels of Indian culture and traditions.

4. Kalinjar Fort
Kalinjar is an ancient fort in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district. Situated on the Vindhya mountain range near the World Heritage Site of Khajuraho. It is one of the eight prominent forts of the Chandela kings. The mighty fortress goes up to an altitude of 1203 ft and overlooks the plains of Bundelkhand.

5. Bharat Milaap Temple
Believed to be the meeting place of the four brothers during Lord Rama’s period of exile. The Temple of Bharat Milaap is a very important Chitrakoot temple.

6. Ramghat
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Chitrakoot is Ramghat. Where Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman appeared in front of the famous poet Tulsidas.
The serene ghat lining the Mandakini River, and he used to sit on the riverside and write Ram Charitra Manas. Ramghat is the hub of all religious activities and the most famous bathing ghat in Chitrakoot. It is a belief that taking a dip will absolve a person of all sins at Ramghat.

7. Hanuman Dhara
The statue of Lord hanuman releases the stream of water and it directly goes to the kund. In this region, you will find lagoons, which have a strong connection to the God Hanuman. Hanuman Dhara is the name of the spring.
It sprouts from a rock when Lord Ram shot an arrow into it. He came to this place to extinguish the fire stuck in his tail. After he returned from burning Lanka to calm down an angry Hanuman.

Best Time to Visit Chitrakoot:
When the weather is good and not very humid. The best time to visit Chitrakoot is between July and March. The monsoon season, particularly from August onwards, is the ideal season for a visit.
How Can You Reach Chitrakoot?
Since Chitrakoot is located near the border of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, both states are within easy reach. Karwi, which is more or less the town of Chitrakoot itself, is the closest railway station to Chitrakoot. There are regular bus services to and from Chitrakoot, via well-connected highways, particularly the NH 76 National Highway. There is no direct connection to Chitrakoot by air. But you can take a flight to Allahabad or Khajuraho and a taxi is possible from there.
