Itinerary Overivew

In honor of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, Aurangabad is named after him. Aurangabad is home to many historical monuments, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Ajanta Caves and Ellora Caves.

These stunning caves are situated between the Satara and Sihyachal ranges of hills. This is the only place in India where you can find ancient rock cut carvings and paintings. Aurangabad 3 Days Itinrary

Day 1 :Arrival Aurangabad - Sightseeing

A representative of Tusk Travel will meet you at the Aurangabad Airport or Railway Station and transfer you to the hotel. After checking in, you can relax and refresh yourself.

Proceed to visit Aurangabad Caves, Daulatabad fort - famous for its secret escape routes & trick defenses, Ghrishneshwar temple, Aurangzeb's tomb, Bibi ka maqbara (Mini Taj Mahal) - memorial of Aurangazeb's wife Rabia Durrani & Panchakki - large grinding stones used to power a flour mill by using water.

Later, return to the hotel and spend the night.

Day 2 :Ajanta Sightseeing

Continue your full-day trip to Ajanta after breakfast. There is no doubt that the caves built by Buddhist monks in the 2nd century are beautiful examples of ancient Indian arts and architecture.

These caves have beautiful frescoes, paintings, and sculptures. A horseshoe-shaped cave system consists of 30 caves in total.

Stay overnight at the hotel after sightseeing.

  • 9.00 AM to 17.30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
  • Ajanta Caves remain closed on Monday.
Day 3 :Ellora Caves Sightseeing

The tour begins with breakfast at your hotel, then you'll proceed to the Ellora caves - one of the finest examples of rockcut caves, with 34 rockcut temples.

Afterwards, you'll continue to the Pithalkora caves - consisting of 14 caves decorated with fascinating Buddhist style sculptures. From Aurangabad to Pithalkora caves, there are 78 km.

After this beautiful, memorable tour, we'll take you to the airport to catch your train or flight home.

Ellora Caves Visit Timings:

  • 9.00 AM to 17.30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
  • Ellora Caves remain closed on Tuesday.
