Well Organized Trip
We appreciated our travel designer (Ovijit) was able to customize our trip to add in additional stops and tailor our hotels to what we were looking for.
This 8 Days Assam Tour is designed for travellers who want to see more than a single wildlife park. The route begins with Kaziranga National Park, continues to Majuli Island for cultural experiences, then moves through Jorhat and Sivasagar before reaching Dibrugarh, Tai-Phakey Village and Dibru-Saikhowa National Park.
The itinerary targets search intent for an Assam tour with Kaziranga and Majuli, Sivasagar Dibrugarh itinerary, Dibru-Saikhowa tour and 8 days Assam package. It combines wildlife, river-island culture, Ahom heritage, tea-country landscapes and eastern Assam communities in one longer route.
Kaziranga safari operations depend on permits, seasonal opening, weather and forest rules. Wildlife sightings are natural and can never be guaranteed.
Majuli ferry operations depend on Brahmaputra river conditions and local schedules, so boarding points and transfer timings may change.
Dibru-Saikhowa is strongly influenced by river and wetland conditions. Boat excursions or river safaris should only be included when locally operating and considered safe.
Tai-Phakey Village is a living community, so visits should be respectful and should not interfere with private homes, ceremonies or daily life.
Meet your driver in Guwahati and begin the road journey towards Kaziranga National Park.
Travel through the Assam plains, passing towns, agricultural areas and rural landscapes.
On arrival, check in at your wildlife lodge and rest.
Confirm the next day’s safari timing and permit arrangements according to current park operations.
Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
Begin the day with a scheduled wildlife safari inside Kaziranga National Park.
Explore the assigned park range by authorised safari vehicle according to permits and forest rules.
The park’s grasslands, wetlands and woodland support rhinoceros, wild buffalo, elephants, deer and many bird species, but no particular sighting can be guaranteed.
If a second safari is included, it will depend on permit availability and current park operations.
Spend the evening at leisure around your lodge.
Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
After breakfast, leave Kaziranga and travel towards the Jorhat side for the onward journey to Majuli Island.
Continue to the locally operating ferry or river-crossing point.
Ferry timings and boarding arrangements can change with Brahmaputra river conditions, weather and local operations.
After reaching Majuli, transfer to your accommodation and enjoy the island’s rural atmosphere.
Overnight stay in Majuli.
Spend the morning exploring the cultural landscape of Majuli Island.
Visit selected satras where public access is permitted and learn about Assam’s Vaishnavite traditions.
Depending on the final programme, also visit villages associated with weaving, mask-making or pottery.
Later, return to the ferry point and cross back towards Jorhat according to the operating schedule.
Check in at a hotel or tea-country stay around Jorhat.
Overnight stay in Jorhat.
After breakfast, leave Jorhat and travel towards Sivasagar.
Visit selected Ahom-era heritage sites and publicly accessible monuments according to current timings.
Use the visit to understand the historical importance of Sivasagar rather than treating it only as a road stop.
Later, continue towards Dibrugarh.
On arrival, check in at your hotel and rest.
Overnight stay in Dibrugarh.
After breakfast, travel towards Tai-Phakey Village or another locally suitable cultural stop.
Learn about the community’s traditions, architecture and daily life in a respectful manner.
Continue towards the Dibru-Saikhowa area and check current conditions for the following day’s river or wetland experience.
Depending on operational arrangements, stay around Tinsukia, Guijan or return towards Dibrugarh.
Overnight stay in Dibrugarh/Tinsukia area.
Spend the day around Dibru-Saikhowa National Park and its riverine landscape.
A locally operated boat excursion can be included when water level, weather, permits and safety conditions are suitable.
The region is known for wetlands, river channels, grassland and birdlife, but wildlife sightings remain unpredictable.
Do not promise a fixed “boat safari” route because river conditions and local operations can change.
Return to your accommodation by evening.
Overnight stay in Dibrugarh/Tinsukia area.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel.
Depending on your location and departure schedule, transfer towards Dibrugarh Airport or railway station.
Keep the morning flexible and avoid adding a long sightseeing detour before departure.
Your 8 Days Assam Tour concludes after exploring Kaziranga, Majuli, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tai-Phakey and Dibru-Saikhowa.
Tour concludes in Dibrugarh.
