Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Dibrugarh Airport or railway station and meet your driver for the journey towards Tezu.
The drive leaves the Assam plains and gradually enters the eastern Arunachal landscape. Keep your required entry permit and identification easily accessible.
On arrival in Tezu, check in at your hotel and rest after the road journey.
If daylight remains, enjoy a short local orientation or nearby riverside stop rather than adding extensive sightseeing.
Overnight stay in Tezu.
After an early breakfast, leave Tezu and continue through Hayuliang towards Walong.
The road follows the Lohit Valley through increasingly remote mountain terrain, forested slopes and river scenery.
Use Hayuliang as a practical rest stop and continue the journey according to road and weather conditions.
This is a long road day, so the focus should remain on the transfer rather than adding unnecessary sightseeing.
On arrival in Walong, check in and rest.
Overnight stay in Walong.
Spend the day exploring Walong and its surrounding valley.
Visit selected military memorial areas connected with the 1962 conflict and take time to understand the historical importance of the region.
Continue to suitable viewpoints, river areas and local settlement zones according to current access and local advice.
The landscape is the main attraction here, so allow time for slow stops rather than trying to cover too many minor points.

After an early breakfast, check out from Walong and begin the return drive towards Tezu.
Retrace the Lohit Valley road through Hayuliang, with rest stops where safe and practical.
Weather and road conditions can change quickly in this remote region, so the day should remain focused on the transfer.
On arrival in Tezu, check in and rest after the long drive.
Overnight stay in Tezu.
Spend a more relaxed day in and around Tezu after the long Walong road journey.
Visit selected local cultural, market, river or scenic areas according to current access and your interests.
This slower day provides useful recovery time and gives the itinerary a better balance than returning directly to Dibrugarh after Walong.
Keep the late afternoon free to prepare for the final transfer.

After breakfast, check out from Tezu and begin the drive back towards Dibrugarh.
Travel out of eastern Arunachal Pradesh and return towards the Assam plains.
Keep a comfortable buffer before your onward flight or train, especially during periods of heavy rain or road maintenance.
On arrival in Dibrugarh, transfer to the airport or railway station for departure.
