Well Organized Trip
We appreciated our travel designer (Ovijit) was able to customize our trip to add in additional stops and tailor our hotels to what we were looking for.
This 7 Days Mumbai & Goa Culinary Tour combines two of India’s most distinctive west-coast food destinations. Mumbai introduces street food, historic markets, migrant food traditions and coastal Maharashtra flavours, while Goa adds Portuguese-influenced food culture, local breads, home cooking, spices and relaxed coastal dining.
The itinerary is designed for inbound travellers who want a short but varied culinary journey. Food walks, neighbourhood markets and cooking experiences are balanced with Mumbai’s major landmarks and Goa’s heritage areas so the trip remains culturally rich rather than becoming a sequence of restaurant visits.
Mumbai’s food reflects the diversity of the city itself. Vegetarian snacks, seafood, bakery traditions, regional Maharashtrian dishes and foods introduced by migrant communities all coexist within a relatively small geographic area.
Goa provides a strong contrast through coconut, rice, kokum, local breads, seafood, spices and recipes influenced by both local traditions and centuries of Portuguese contact.
Food stops should be selected according to current hygiene conditions and opening hours. Vegetarian, vegan and milder-spice options can be incorporated throughout the journey, and seafood remains optional.
Arrive in Mumbai and transfer privately to your hotel. The first day is kept relaxed after your journey.
Mumbai is an excellent culinary starting point because its food has been shaped by coastal geography, migration, commerce and communities from across India.
In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with a selected introduction to Maharashtrian or broader Mumbai cuisine according to the traveller’s preferences.
Your guide or host can explain the difference between home-style regional meals, street food, seafood traditions and the city’s more formal dining culture.
Reconfirm dietary requirements, allergies and preferred spice levels before the food walk the next day.
Overnight stay in Mumbai.
After breakfast, explore selected heritage areas of Mumbai, combining major landmarks with neighbourhoods connected to the city’s everyday food culture.
Visit a suitable market to see vegetables, fruit, spices, grains, fish or seafood where relevant, and other ingredients moving through the city’s kitchens.
Later, join a guided street-food experience at carefully selected stops. Depending on current availability and hygiene conditions, tastings may include chaat, pav-based snacks, vegetarian street foods, sweets or local drinks.
Keep portions small so the experience shows variety without becoming too heavy. Your guide can explain how different communities have contributed to Mumbai’s food identity.
Finish with a relaxed dinner or evening walk after the tasting programme.
