Well Organized Trip
We appreciated our travel designer (Ovijit) was able to customize our trip to add in additional stops and tailor our hotels to what we were looking for.
This 7 Days Lachung, Dzongu and Gangtok Tour combines a quieter village and nature experience in Dzongu with the mountain landscapes of Lachung and Yumthang Valley, followed by Gangtok and the high-altitude Tsomgo Lake route. It is designed for travellers who want more than the standard Gangtok and Lachung circuit.
The itinerary is suitable for travellers searching for a Dzongu Sikkim tour, Lachung Yumthang itinerary or a 7 days North Sikkim tour. By adding Dzongu, the journey includes local landscapes, village life and a slower nature-focused experience before continuing towards Lachung.
Dzongu is best approached as a community and nature destination. Visits to villages, homes or locally managed areas should follow the arrangements and guidance of local hosts.
North Sikkim and Tsomgo Lake travel depends on permits, nationality rules, weather, road conditions and local administrative instructions. Access can change at short notice.
Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary is especially associated with seasonal flowering, but bloom levels, snow and mountain views vary by season and should not be guaranteed.
Nathula Pass is not included as a guaranteed part of this tour. It may only be considered separately for eligible travellers when current rules and permit approval allow.
After breakfast, leave Gangtok and travel towards Dzongu.
Continue through the mountain valleys of North Sikkim according to current road and local access conditions.
On arrival, meet your local host or guide where arranged and settle into your accommodation.
Use the remainder of the day for a gentle village walk or scenic exploration rather than a long sightseeing schedule.
Community visits should remain respectful, and entry into homes or private areas should only take place when invited or arranged.
Overnight stay in Dzongu.
Spend the day exploring the Dzongu area at a relaxed pace.
Visit selected village landscapes, local viewpoints, riverside areas or short nature walks according to weather and local arrangements.
The focus should be on local culture, farming landscapes and the quieter mountain environment rather than a checklist of formal attractions.
If community interaction is arranged, follow the guidance of local hosts and respect photography preferences.
Nature walks should be adjusted for rain, trail conditions and traveller comfort.
Overnight stay in Dzongu.
After breakfast, leave Dzongu and travel towards Chungthang.
Continue through the permitted North Sikkim corridor towards Lachung.
Road and weather conditions can change quickly, so sightseeing stops should remain flexible.
On arrival in Lachung, check in at your accommodation and keep the rest of the day relaxed.
If conditions allow, take a short walk around the publicly accessible village area.
Overnight stay in Lachung.
Start early from Lachung for the excursion towards Yumthang Valley.
Travel through the permitted route according to current permits, road and weather conditions.
Explore the valley and the accessible areas associated with the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary.
Rhododendron flowering is seasonal, while snow and clear mountain views vary according to the time of year and weather.
Any additional high-altitude extension should only be considered when locally permitted and operationally suitable.
Return to Lachung later in the day.
Overnight stay in Lachung.
After breakfast, check out from Lachung and begin the return journey towards Gangtok.
Travel through the North Sikkim mountain corridor with practical stops according to road and weather conditions.
Landslides, traffic or temporary road controls can affect travel time.
On arrival in Gangtok, check in at your hotel and keep the evening free for rest.
Avoid scheduling demanding sightseeing after the long mountain transfer.
Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Start early from Gangtok for the high-altitude excursion towards Tsomgo Lake.
Travel only after the required permits have been approved and the route is open.
Spend time at Tsomgo Lake according to weather and road conditions, then continue towards Baba Mandir if permitted.
Snowfall, landslides, poor visibility or administrative restrictions can alter the planned sightseeing route.
Nathula Pass is not included as a guaranteed stop and should only be considered separately for eligible travellers with the required permit.
Return to Gangtok by evening.
Overnight stay in Gangtok.
After breakfast, enjoy selected Gangtok sightseeing according to your departure timing.
Visit suitable viewpoints, monasteries, museums, gardens or cultural attractions based on current opening times.
At active religious sites, enter only publicly accessible areas and follow local guidance regarding photography and conduct.
Later, continue to your onward transfer point or remain in Gangtok according to your separately arranged travel plans.
Your 7 Days Lachung, Dzongu and Gangtok Tour concludes after combining village landscapes, North Sikkim mountains and East Sikkim sightseeing.
Tour concludes after Gangtok sightseeing and the planned departure transfer.
