This 7 Days Assam and Meghalaya Tour combines the wildlife of Kaziranga National Park with the hill landscapes of Shillong, Cherrapunji and Mawlynnong. Starting from Guwahati, the journey first explores Kaziranga before crossing into Meghalaya.

Detailed Itinerary
Arrive in Guwahati and meet your driver for the journey towards Kaziranga National Park.
Travel east through the Assam plains, passing towns, villages and agricultural areas.
On arrival, check in at your hotel or wildlife lodge and rest.
Confirm the next day’s safari timing and permit arrangements according to current park operations.
Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
Begin the day with a scheduled safari inside Kaziranga National Park.
Explore the assigned park range by authorised safari vehicle according to permits and forest rules.
Kaziranga’s grasslands, wetlands and woodland support rhinoceros, wild buffalo, elephants, deer and many bird species, but no specific sighting can be guaranteed.
If a second safari is included, it will depend on permit availability and current park operations.
Spend the evening at leisure around your lodge.
Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
After breakfast, check out from Kaziranga and begin the road journey towards Shillong.
Travel through Assam before gradually climbing into the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya.
This is a longer transfer day, so keep sightseeing light and use practical meal and rest stops.
On arrival in Shillong, check in at your hotel and relax.
Overnight stay in Shillong.
After breakfast, leave Shillong and travel towards Cherrapunji.
Stop at selected Khasi Hills viewpoints where weather and visibility permit.
Visit seasonal waterfalls and natural attractions around Cherrapunji, including Nohkalikai Falls when local conditions are suitable.
A publicly accessible limestone cave can also be included according to available time and access.
Check in at your hotel in Cherrapunji and relax.
Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
After breakfast, leave Cherrapunji and travel towards Mawlynnong.
Explore the village respectfully and learn about local community practices and rural life.
Visit a nearby living root bridge where included in the programme and where trail conditions are suitable.
Keep the pace relaxed and avoid overloading the day with long detours.
Overnight stay in Mawlynnong or nearby.
After breakfast, leave Mawlynnong and begin the return journey towards Shillong.
Continue through the Khasi Hills and stop at suitable viewpoints if time and weather permit.
Travel onward from Shillong towards Guwahati and descend back into the Assam plains.
On arrival in Guwahati, check in at your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and visit Kamakhya Temple.
Darshan and waiting time can vary depending on crowds, festivals, temple timings and local arrangements.
After the temple visit, transfer to Guwahati Airport or railway station for your onward journey.
