This 6 Days Gwalior, Shivpuri and Orchha Tour combines three contrasting heritage destinations across northern Madhya Pradesh and Bundelkhand. The journey begins in Gwalior, continues through Shivpuri and finishes in Orchha before departure from Jhansi.
It is a good choice for travellers who want to go beyond the usual Gwalior-Orchha route. Gwalior provides a major fort and royal-palace experience, Shivpuri adds cenotaphs and quieter princely heritage, while Orchha offers Bundela palaces, temples and a scenic riverside setting along the Betwa.
The itinerary gives two nights in Gwalior, followed by one night in Shivpuri and two nights around Orchha, making the journey comfortable and varied. The route is especially suitable for travellers interested in architecture, history, photography and smaller heritage towns with fewer crowds.
The tour can be customised according to hotel category, arrival and departure times and sightseeing interests. It can also be extended to Khajuraho, Panna or Chanderi for a longer Central India journey.

Detailed Itinerary
Arrive in Gwalior by train, flight or road. Meet your representative and transfer to the hotel.
After check-in, begin a relaxed city sightseeing programme covering selected palaces, museums, memorials or local heritage landmarks according to your arrival time.
The first day is kept flexible so you can settle in before the more detailed Gwalior Fort tour on the following day.
Overnight stay in Gwalior.
After breakfast, spend the day exploring Gwalior Fort, the city's defining landmark and one of Central India's major fortified hill complexes.
Visit important palaces, temples, gateways and historic buildings inside the fort while your guide explains the site's long political and architectural history.
Allow enough time for the viewpoints and smaller monuments rather than treating the fort as a quick stop. The elevated setting also provides broad views across modern Gwalior.
Return to the hotel after completing the sightseeing programme.
Overnight stay in Gwalior.
After breakfast, check out and drive towards Shivpuri, a former princely retreat known for its royal cenotaphs, palaces and quieter landscape.
On arrival, check in at your hotel and begin sightseeing with selected princely-era monuments and memorials.
The slower pace of Shivpuri provides a useful contrast after the large architectural complexes of Gwalior.
Overnight stay in Shivpuri.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Orchha, one of Bundelkhand's most atmospheric historic towns.
On arrival, check in at your hotel and begin a relaxed introduction to Orchha's old town, Betwa River and major heritage zone.
Depending on arrival time, visit selected temples or walk near the riverside cenotaphs before returning to the hotel.
Overnight stay in Orchha.
After breakfast, spend a full day exploring Orchha.
Visit the Orchha Fort complex, including major palaces and courtyards associated with the Bundela rulers. Continue to important temples and other historic monuments around the old town.
Walk along the Betwa River and see the cenotaphs rising above the riverbank. The combination of palace architecture and natural setting makes Orchha particularly rewarding for photography and slower sightseeing.
Overnight stay in Orchha.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Orchha and drive to Jhansi.
Depending on your onward train or road schedule, include a short visit to Jhansi Fort or selected local landmarks before departure.
At the appropriate time, transfer to Jhansi railway station or another agreed departure point.
Your 6-day Gwalior, Shivpuri and Orchha tour concludes after combining hill-fort architecture, princely heritage and the riverside monuments of Bundelkhand.
