Detailed Itinerary
Arrive in Kochi and meet your driver for the journey to Munnar. The road gradually rises from Kerala's coastal plain into the Western Ghats.
As you travel inland, the scenery changes to plantation country, forested slopes and cooler hill landscapes. Depending on your arrival time and road conditions, short scenic or refreshment stops can be made along the way.
On arrival in Munnar, check in at your hotel and keep the evening relaxed. If daylight remains, enjoy a short walk or views of the surrounding tea-covered hills.
Travel planning tip: if your Kochi arrival is late, an overnight in Kochi is usually more comfortable than beginning a hill transfer after dark.

After breakfast, spend a full day exploring Munnar. Start with a practical sightseeing circuit through the main tea-growing and reservoir areas.
Visit Mattupetty Dam and enjoy the surrounding reservoir scenery, then continue towards Echo Point and selected nearby viewpoints. Weather and traffic can affect the order of stops, especially during busy travel periods.
Spend time among the tea estates and include a tea museum or authorised plantation-related visit where open. A useful experience should explain tea cultivation and processing rather than only providing a photo opportunity.
If Eravikulam National Park is included, access remains subject to seasonal conservation closures, ticket availability and current visitor rules.
Return to your hotel in the evening. Keeping the day geographically focused is more enjoyable than trying to cover every attraction across Munnar.

After breakfast, check out from Munnar and begin the journey to Alleppey. Today's transfer takes you from Kerala's highlands down towards the low-lying backwater region.
The scenery changes gradually from tea and spice-growing hills to coconut groves, waterways and flatter agricultural landscapes. On arrival in Alleppey, check in at your hotel or backwater resort.
Keep the late afternoon relaxed with a short local orientation, canal-side walk or optional small-boat experience if weather and local schedules permit.
The main houseboat experience is planned for tomorrow, so there is no need to rush into a long cruise immediately after the drive from Munnar.
Overnight stay in Alleppey.
After breakfast, prepare for the classic Alleppey houseboat experience. Board your pre-booked boat according to the operator's check-in schedule and settle into your cabin.
As the houseboat cruises through the waterways, watch village homes, narrow canals, coconut groves, local ferries and the low-lying paddy landscapes associated with Kerala's backwater region.
Meals are usually prepared onboard according to the booked plan. Vegetarian, vegan, allergy-related or other dietary needs should be communicated before boarding.
Houseboats normally cruise during permitted daylight hours and remain moored later in the day. Exact route, cruising duration and docking point can vary with water conditions, local navigation rules and operator schedules.

Overnight stay on an Alleppey houseboat.
After breakfast on the houseboat, complete the morning cruise and disembark according to the boat's operating schedule.
Meet your driver and continue to Kochi. Your transfer will be planned around your flight or train timing.
If your departure is later in the day, a short Fort Kochi or shopping stop can be considered, but avoid a distant sightseeing programme before departure.
At the appropriate time, transfer to Kochi International Airport or railway station for your onward journey.
