Tour Overview
This 5 Days Khajuraho, Panna, Orchha and Jhansi Tour brings together some of the most important heritage and wildlife experiences of Madhya Pradesh and Bundelkhand. The journey starts in Khajuraho, continues to Panna National Park, and then moves west to Orchha before ending in Jhansi.
It is a practical itinerary for travellers who want more than a temple-only Khajuraho visit. The route combines UNESCO-listed temple architecture, a wildlife safari, riverside palaces, Bundela-era monuments and the historic legacy of Jhansi in one compact five-day journey.
The first two days allow enough time to see Khajuraho beyond the Western Group alone, including the Eastern and Southern temples. Panna adds a contrasting forest experience, while Orchha introduces a different architectural language through palaces, temples, cenotaphs and the Betwa River landscape.
This itinerary can be customised according to hotel category, safari permit availability and your onward train or flight connection from Jhansi or nearby airports. It can also be extended to Gwalior, Bandhavgarh or Varanasi for a longer Central India trip.

Detailed Itinerary
Arrive in Khajuraho by flight, train or road. Meet your representative and transfer to the hotel for check-in and some time to rest.
Depending on your arrival time, begin with a relaxed orientation around Khajuraho town or visit selected nearby temples before the main sightseeing programme on the following day.
In the evening, you may explore the local market area or attend an optional cultural or sound-and-light programme if operating during your visit.
Overnight stay in Khajuraho.
After breakfast, spend the day exploring the major Khajuraho temples. Start with the Western Group of Temples, the most famous concentration of monuments in the destination.
Explore important temples such as Kandariya Mahadeva, Lakshmana and Vishvanatha while your guide explains the Chandela-period architecture, sculpture and religious symbolism.
Continue to the Eastern Group, including selected Jain and Hindu temples, and then visit the Southern Group to gain a more complete understanding of Khajuraho beyond the main complex.
Overnight stay in Khajuraho.
Start early for an excursion to Panna National Park, located within convenient reach of Khajuraho.
Depending on confirmed permits and safari timings, enter the park for a shared jeep safari. Panna's dry deciduous forest, grassland and riverine habitats support deer, antelope, langurs, wild boar, numerous birds and larger predators. Tiger and leopard sightings depend entirely on wildlife movement and are never guaranteed.
Later, visit Pandav Falls, a scenic natural stop within the wider Panna landscape.
Overnight stay in Khajuraho.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Orchha, travelling through the Bundelkhand countryside.
On arrival, check in at your hotel and begin exploring the historic town. Visit the Orchha Fort complex, where palaces and courtyards reflect the architectural style of the Bundela rulers.
Continue to selected temples and riverside viewpoints around the Betwa River. Depending on arrival time, you may also explore the cenotaphs that line the riverbank.
Overnight stay in Orchha.
After breakfast, continue sightseeing in Orchha. Visit important monuments such as Jahangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, Ram Raja Temple and other sites according to your interests and available time.
Later, drive to Jhansi for a short city visit before departure. Depending on your train or road schedule, visit Jhansi Fort or other nearby landmarks connected with the city's important role in nineteenth-century Indian history.
At the appropriate time, transfer to Jhansi railway station or your agreed departure point for the onward journey.
Your 5-day Khajuraho, Panna, Orchha and Jhansi tour concludes after combining temple heritage, wildlife, Bundela architecture and the historic landscapes of Central India.
