This 5 Days Chanderi, Shivpuri, Orchha and Jhansi Tour connects four distinctive heritage destinations across northern Madhya Pradesh and Bundelkhand. Starting from Gwalior, the journey moves through Shivpuri and Chanderi before reaching Orchha and finishing in Jhansi.
The itinerary is ideal for travellers who enjoy smaller historic towns, fort architecture, palace complexes, temple heritage and local craft traditions. Each stop has a different character, so the route feels varied rather than repetitive.
Shivpuri introduces princely-era heritage and a quieter landscape, while Chanderi adds a strong combination of fort history and handloom culture. Orchha then provides one of the route's most atmospheric settings with Bundela palaces, temples, cenotaphs and the Betwa River.
The tour finishes in Jhansi, making it practical for onward rail travel. Travellers with more time can extend the route to Khajuraho, Panna or Gwalior for a longer Central India journey.

Detailed Itinerary
Meet your driver in Gwalior and begin the road journey to Shivpuri.
On arrival, check in at your hotel and begin sightseeing with selected princely-era monuments, cenotaphs and local heritage attractions.
Shivpuri offers a quieter start to the journey and provides a useful transition between Gwalior's urban heritage and the smaller historic towns ahead.
Overnight stay in Shivpuri.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Chanderi, a historic town known for medieval architecture and its long-standing textile tradition.
On arrival, check in at your hotel and begin with a relaxed old-town visit. Walk through traditional neighbourhoods, market lanes and selected heritage sites.
If time permits, include a short introduction to local handloom weaving before the more detailed fort sightseeing the following day.
Overnight stay in Chanderi.
After breakfast, visit Chanderi Fort and selected monuments around the historic town.
Explore viewpoints, gateways, religious buildings and other heritage structures that reflect Chanderi's strategic importance and layered history.
Later, check out and drive to Orchha. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening near the old town or Betwa River.
Overnight stay in Orchha.
After breakfast, spend the day exploring Orchha in depth.
Visit the Orchha Fort complex, with its Bundela palaces, courtyards and elevated views. Continue to important temples and historic areas around the old town.
Later, walk towards the Betwa River to see the cenotaphs that create one of Orchha's most recognisable skyline views.
The day is intentionally unhurried, allowing time for architecture, photography and a slower walk through the compact heritage zone.
Overnight stay in Orchha.
After breakfast, check out and drive from Orchha to Jhansi.
Depending on your departure schedule, include a visit to Jhansi Fort or selected city landmarks before continuing to the railway station or another agreed departure point.
The final stop adds another layer of Bundelkhand history after the fort, textile and palace experiences of Shivpuri, Chanderi and Orchha.
Your 5-day Chanderi, Shivpuri, Orchha and Jhansi tour concludes after a varied journey through some of northern Madhya Pradesh's most interesting smaller heritage destinations.

- 7 days or less before arrival, or no-show: 100% cancellation charge (no refund).
