Temple of Kartik Swami is dedicated to Lord Kartikeya located at the altitude of 3050 mtrs. in the magnificent Himalayan region of Garhwal. Lord Kartikeya, the eldest son of Lord Shiva, and is decorated at the end of a narrow waterfall, surrounded by deep valleys.
Kartik Swami temple can be reached through a mild 3 kms trek from Kanakchauri village, which is on the Rudraprayag-Pokhri route, just 40 kms from Rudraprayag. The trek to Kartik Swami can be started from Kanakchauri village, located on the Rudraprayag - Pokhari route in the district of Rudraprayag of the state Uttarakhand.

Detailed Itinerary
Drive straight to Rudraprayag enroute visiting Srinagar and Deoprayag. On arrival at Rudraprayag, check in to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Drive to Rudraprayag with enroute sightseeing.
After breakfast, drive to Kanakchauri Village (base of Kartik Swami) and start the trek to Kartik Swami Temple. The trek is approximately 3 kms. Enjoy the scenic views of the mighty Himalayas and visit the temple.
Trek back to Kanakchauri, check out from the hotel and drive back to Rudraprayag for dinner and overnight stay.
