Well Organized Trip
We appreciated our travel designer (Ovijit) was able to customize our trip to add in additional stops and tailor our hotels to what we were looking for.
This 10 Days Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim Tour combines three distinct Northeast India regions in one long itinerary. The journey begins in Guwahati, continues through Cherrapunji, Mawlynnong and Shillong, then moves to Kaziranga National Park before continuing to Gangtok in Sikkim.
The itinerary is suitable for travellers searching for an Assam Meghalaya Sikkim tour, Kaziranga Gangtok itinerary or a 10 days Northeast India tour. It combines Khasi Hills scenery, Kaziranga wildlife and Sikkim’s mountain landscapes with Tsomgo Lake and the Nathula Pass excursion.
This is a fast-moving multi-state itinerary. The Kaziranga to New Jalpaiguri sector is a long transfer and should be planned carefully with the actual transport mode confirmed before travel.
Kaziranga safari operations depend on permits, seasonal opening, weather and forest regulations. Wildlife sightings are natural and cannot be guaranteed.
Tsomgo Lake and Nathula Pass are high-altitude destinations. Access depends on weather, road conditions, permit approval and local or military restrictions.
Nathula Pass should never be promised as guaranteed. If access is unavailable, the sightseeing plan should be adjusted according to local conditions.
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or railway station and meet your driver.
Transfer to your hotel and complete check-in.
Depending on arrival time, include a short Brahmaputra riverfront visit or another suitable local stop.
Keep the day relaxed before the drive to Meghalaya the following morning.
Overnight stay in Guwahati.
After breakfast, leave Guwahati and travel into Meghalaya towards Cherrapunji.
Climb through the Khasi Hills and stop at suitable viewpoints according to weather and visibility.
On arrival, visit selected waterfalls or natural viewpoints if time permits.
Check in at your hotel and relax.
Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
After breakfast, leave Cherrapunji and travel towards Mawlynnong.
Explore the village respectfully and visit a nearby living root bridge where included and where trail conditions are suitable.
Continue later towards Shillong.
On arrival, check in at your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.
Overnight stay in Shillong.
After breakfast, check out from Shillong and begin the road journey towards Kaziranga National Park.
Descend from Meghalaya into the Assam plains and continue east towards Kaziranga.
This is a longer transfer day, so keep sightseeing light and use practical rest stops.
On arrival, check in at your lodge and confirm the next day’s safari arrangements.
Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
Begin the day with a scheduled safari inside Kaziranga National Park.
Explore the assigned range by authorised safari vehicle according to permits and forest rules.
The park supports rhinoceros, wild buffalo, elephants, deer and many bird species, but no specific sighting can be guaranteed.
If a second safari is included, it will depend on permit availability and park operations.
Spend the evening at leisure around your lodge.
Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
After breakfast, check out from Kaziranga and begin the onward journey towards New Jalpaiguri.
This is the longest transfer sector of the itinerary and may involve road and/or rail arrangements via Guwahati depending on the final booking plan.
Keep the day transfer-focused and avoid adding sightseeing stops.
Arrival timing in New Jalpaiguri will depend on the transport mode selected and actual operating schedule.
Overnight stay near New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri.
After breakfast, leave New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri and begin the drive towards Gangtok.
The road climbs gradually into Sikkim, following mountain valleys and river landscapes.
Road conditions can vary with weather, traffic and landslide-related restrictions.
On arrival in Gangtok, check in at your hotel and relax.
Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Spend the day exploring Gangtok and selected nearby attractions.
Visit suitable viewpoints, monasteries, museums or local cultural sites according to current access and timing.
At active monasteries, enter only publicly accessible areas and follow local instructions regarding photography and conduct.
Keep the pace moderate to prepare for the high-altitude excursion the following day.
Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Start early for the high-altitude excursion from Gangtok towards Tsomgo Lake.
Continue towards Nathula Pass only if the required permits are approved and the route is open.
Access can be restricted due to weather, snow, road conditions, military requirements or local administrative decisions.
Travellers should move slowly at altitude and follow local guidance if they experience discomfort.
Return to Gangtok by evening.
Overnight stay in Gangtok.
After breakfast, check out from your Gangtok hotel.
Transfer towards your planned departure point, such as Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, according to the final travel arrangement.
Keep sufficient buffer because mountain-road travel can be affected by traffic, weather and road conditions.
Your 10 Days Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim Tour concludes after combining Cherrapunji, Kaziranga and Gangtok in one Northeast India journey.
Tour concludes with departure from Gangtok.
